| I was trying to place a post on craigslist when for the first time ever, it told me I needed an account to post. First, I thought that maybe they'd blocked me for posting too many ads or something. However, to test the waters, I tried to post in another state and was fine. Continuing my test, I soon discovered that some states allow me to post without asking for an account and others do not. Has CL now mandated that posters in certain states have CL accounts. |

I think they are just trying to keep focused on their original Vision. Local Classified ads. With the overwhelming influx of ex-feebay users, I think the scams from Interstate sales is on an increase. Bad Sellers had to find somewhere to go!!!! I think this also relates to the amount of Flagging that is occuring on the site as well. More cutthroat, unethical seller tactics. They should limit the amount of Flags one can use per 30-day period in my opinion.
Of course, their #1 goal is monetizing the site. I foresee a charge and other restrictions coming for those who list over a certain amount of ads, and those who do not sell on a Local Basis. JMO |
