As the subject describes; I would be interested in taking someones ailing auction / marketplace website over.

I will not guarantee I would keep the site as is, meaning that most likely, it will become a niche type and will have a new domain name. So, the less customers you have right now, the better.

I am not willing to pay an arm and a leg. There are too many auction sites just sitting out there taking up internet realestate with zero or next to zero activity. Think of it this way, some money is better than no money.

I would prefer a .PHP or Cake based site. Perl and Rscript, I don't know, but humor me.

Documentation and source code is required.

Thank you.

NeoLoch has a great setup, and I could make it work for what I need BUT:

It has a decent amount of sales activity and members. I don't want to displace them. There are too many of them actively producing sales and receiving feedback.

But I wouldn't mind finding out what script it is or getting a copy of it ;)

Here are more details:

I am looking for one of those auction sites that is just sitting there, due to lack of traffic, sellers, buyers and/or lack of time for the owner to maintain and/or promote. One of those "defunct" sites but one that is still online and working would probably work great.

The way I look at it, I am paying them to save money.

I heard the # of $1500.00 to buy it. Sounds cheap to me for an R-script site. I believe that is what I read in an earlier Post here at PSU.

No that isn't bad at all.

It is a RainWorx site hosted by RainWorx.

Maybe I will reconsider it, but I am concerned about the current members.

Maybe if Dave could get them to migrate to Atomic Mall in exchange for feedback import and no fees for 6 months. >>> Dave, just an idea, and not really a good one hehehe.

But deep down in my gut, Neoloch would be better suited for someone like MO or someone who would keep it running as is, keep all the members and has the ability and time to market it.

My plan would be to wipe it clean and start a niche site with a new domain name. I would want a prebuilt and working site ONLY because the modules should already be installed (ie. PayPal, Google Checkout, Feedback import) and all the bugs worked out.

I want to be able to concentrate 90% of my time recruiting new sellers, marketing to buyers, providing CS and advertising within my chosen niche.

Then 10% fixing things.

I don't want to be one of those sites that adds upgraded modules slowly based on the income the site is making. Based on what I have seen in here, it would never get added. BUT, if the site already had most of the required features, more people are more likely to decide to list or buy - hopefully they will do both :)

I would love to purchase Flippid.com to be honest. I like the setup, have actually used it. Uploads items quickly. I even like the green lol.

So if anyone knows what script flippid is, please please let me know.

Yuo can probably buy rscript out of the box for about $99, but support is not forth coming, where as with phpprobid, there is excellent support and mods aqvailable. Why buy an exsisting site if you are going to change it to a niche, why not just buy the program and make it into what you want? And on the other hand, If Neoloch shuts down, those same sellers will still be displaced.

I wanted to stay mostly away from RScript for those reasons.

PHPProbid has a nice following, and it seems to have most of the features I would need.

The reasoning behind me wanting a site that is pre-built and operational is because most of the bugs should have already been found and fixed.

Kinda like someone restoring a classic car. Spent loads of time and resources getting it ready for the car show just have something happen that prevented completion. You know, the usual, divorce, ran out of money, kids going to college, moving, etc.

That is the site I want.

I am in no huge hurry. Have plenty of time formulating the business model and listing where I would be able to market it and recruit members.

Buying an out of the box would be ok, but I rather have the tested out version ;)

This one would spark my interest. Do you have any other info on this site or can point me in the right direction?

Thanks

That ebidnow sounds real familiar. I think a stink was made about the "e" in their logo looking alot like Internet Explorer's "e"

They are selling it already? Any more info on that?

Thanks

Why not buy an "out of the box" probid set up for about 225 dollars?

I have been leaning towards that. They appear to be done to $172.00 right now. Then about 600-700 for custom skin. But I can probably get someone else to do that for me.

So I am still pondering.............

Thanks

I don't know a lot but think he said $600..
Personally I think your best bet is to buy a probid script and build from the ground up...
