I used PayPal and others and I did not like the service I got. I finally found a company that would give me good rates and after checking them out with BBB and found out they have a very high rating, I sign up.

I get 1.99% plus $.25 on my credit card charges. The money is deposit in to my account with in 24 hours.

If you would like more information you can e-mail me at BbWMrn@aol.com.

Posting this for LB at PSUnite's request

We just received approval of our merchant account from CardService International (1-866-295-5264). You can sign up at:

www.cardserviceinternational.com

Customer service is at ext. 13. Tech support is open 24/7 at 1-800-456-5989, ext. 4100. Their per-transaction merchant rate is less than PayPal (PayPay raised their rate to $2.99% + $.35 per transaction, and although you don't pay PayPal a monthly fee, you make up for it in eBay fees). CardService's rates are:

Visa/MC - 2.35% + $.30 per transaction
Virtual (eChecks) - 1.99% + $.20 per transaction

The monthly merchant rate for the virtual terminal is $15.95/mo., but if you add the virtual check option, the monthly rate drops to $9.95. You can take customer payments by phone and manually enter them into the virtual terminal from any computer AND they give you a FREE SSL certificate where elsewhere we noticed they cost between $89-120. You also can generate Buy it Now/Add to Cart buttons and add them to your auction pages or web site. They have very good customer service, and their emails are professional and detailed.

I briefly looked at ikobo and pppay and will check them out further (thank you).

I would like to add that we to went through the nightmare of finding someone to process our CC payments. We spoke with dozens of companies and finally settled with CardService International because they were the easiest to deal with. Just fill out a FREE app. on their site. The next day got an email saying we were approved. A snap! Take A look at these sites for more info on the subject.

An article that helped us understand what we were up against!

article ecom merchant

I would also add that we were having an especially hard time because of some adult material that we sell. That didn't seem to bother CSI one bit!

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much NOLA for bumping this or else I would have never seen it! I'm so stupid I should have checked this section on my own. We're looking for a company to process CC's for us and I think this will help us tremendously! Please, EVERYONE post more updates on your experiences!

Does anyone know if they accept Canadian clients processing American money? The inquiry form doesn't have a place for country... and you can only select a state. Although they do say "Zip/postal Code" and there aren't "Postal Codes" in teh States... are there?

Rowdy, we are going to just have start a North American take-everything biz. There's no reason why Canadians should be treated differently. Hope you find that service, still investigationg here!

Yeah man it's pretty crappy, but oh well. Maybe I'll find a business that caters to Canadians, then they might be more concerned with American exchange as well. Oh well, me and you are going to make it big! lol, talk to you soon

Hey Roundabout926
Either move to the US or we need to all get together and get our governments and
businesses to ease up on the shipping costs and customs problems and the monetary rate exchange situation too.

I thought NAFTA was supposed to help commerce between our brothers both north and south.

I guess it was just another way for US companies to move to South America and make a bundle by charging the same price for items produced for a fraction of the cost they were producing it for in the US. Although the guys to the north did get the prescription drug industry and many great actors and movies are from Canada.
Don't help us regular small merchants much though now does it?

Hmmmmmmm

Just kidding about moving. We do all need to work together and figure out how we can trade efficiently.

I've sold a few times to my buds in the north but dam the shipping kills most deals and customs,
rate exchange and such... Don't get me started.

Good luck finding a merchant solution I too am looking for one and glad to BUMP this thread as I look at this one here.

LOL XPP, you're not completely wrong about moving, but I'm comfortable here in my Bordertown. I could walk to the U.S. and back in one day! (well theoretically speaking, I don't know if customs/bridge will let me walk across!). Yeah it sure does seem like Free Trade worked out great for everyone who didn't need the money! Oh what's that? Workers? Who?
Looks like it's our job to make them care who workers are!

We get taxed to hell for sending an ipod to Chicago but big business can send 10's of thousands jobs to China free of charge.... or so they thought! Now they realize that China's lax laws breed piracy, as the same products are being made and sold at a fraction of the price as imitation! Ironic? Moronic? Do both those words apply?

Ah well XPP, one step at a time. We'll worry about merchant accounts first, cleaning up North American Trade Laws second  ! Have a good one man, I'll keep you posted on this one our banks keep referring us to, might be something similar in our Southern Brothers' territory :).

Well, I'd love to help out my friend KW. I forgot about this link, I think if anyone has some good time on their hands they'll find a great merchant here. It's a HUGE list of sites to check out! I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, as PayPal has everything we need at the moment (and our site won't go live for another few months).

Huge List of Merchant Accounts!
