My post office is Ramona CA 92065, one of a handful of locations in San Diego that have the 24 hour APC shipping stations, we have a population of about 48000, but what was until the DRS BS a respectable number of large eBay sellers, I frequently went to the APC (the PO is within eyeshot of my house) at 3AM and wiuld find an ebay seller with 10 or more flat rate outgoing boxes.
Now near the end of my ebay run, I had a large number of foreign boxes, which cannot go through the APC, and the Ramona PO would frequently have significant lines so I would use the Santa Ysabel PO 92070 near my shop facility, where I make the items I sell and with their part time hours there, and the 400 population, the $500 a month I would spend there was a huge fraction of their revenue.
Only a year ago, the Ramona PO would have monthly free seminars on how to make your ebay shipping experience more efficient.
As an aside, I've been registered here and have been an active reader since July, but I'm an AOL user and as soon as I log in using AOL, this site would be painfully slow, I had the same issue at Bonanzle. I am now utilizing Firefox to post here, which works fine and I'll endeavor to contribute more.

| Ebay is so hot to follow Amazon yet they disregard some of the very things that make Amazon work so well. Amazon gives its sellers a time frame for shipping. When you order from one of their sellers you are told your item should arrive between this date and that date. You cannot even give feedback before the start date even if the seller was quick and delivered to you almost immediately! In putting the onus on the seller to get the item to the buyer in a reasonable amount of time...they at least had the good sense to state what that reasonable amount of time should be. Ebay lives in a childish dreamworld - things worked out on paper that are unworkable in real life are thoughtlessly impressed on their sellers. |
