OK, it has now happened twice in two weeks: PayPal "inquiries" based on bank reversals for payments from Canada. Two separate transactions from separate buyers, one about a week old and one about two weeks old.
Items were already shipped. The items are low-dollar (average sale $12) and I sent air mail. I don't think the market will support anything higher than first class international due to what the shipping would cost relative to the low cost of the item, and unfortunately the items will not fit in any flat-rate Priority Mail packaging. The competition also has to use air mail (first class international).
PayPal apparently wants faxed or uploaded proof of shipping. I use Endicia, but I don't know if there's anything I can send that would constitute that. I don't feel like just "resolving" it by saying I'll accept liability...might as well just not respond (their limited choices in the "resolution" process and nags can just rub salt into the wound).
How are these reversals happening? Did somebody else use the account, or is it a buyer-initiated scam?
Should I file for an unpaid item via eBay?
Suggestions welcome. |
