I keep hearing about all the wonderful deals on Craigslist. In fact, a couple of Ebay sellers keep talking about getting all this free stuff on Craigslist and reselling it.
I can't find anything on CL.
Las Vegas CL shows maybe 10 items a day for books and I can't find anything on crafts.
I was looking to pick up some craft magazines or pattern books and/or cookbooks but nothing of interest is ever listed there.
Same with Sacramento.
Is there a different search? Or does the initital view just show some things? |

I rarely see free ads for anything I would want to
resell and ship.
I've picked up books, an old computer, and a computer
desk for free.
I believe most of the items I buy and sell on CL
are a bargain because there is no S&H or PayPal fees.
VCRs purchased on CL for $5.00 ($20 to $25 on eBay with S&H)
Computer purchased on CL for $40 ($75 to $100 on eBay with S&H)
DVDs and VHS purchased for 25 cents to $2.00
($3.00 to $6.00 on eBay with S&H)
More profitable buying and selling on CL because
it eliminates S&H and fees.
It might be worth your time to post ads in the
"Wanted" section for items you are looking to buy. |

I'm in the KC area, and it's pretty expansive. There are some times FREE items, but here - the best way to look for FREE items is using FREEcycle.
I dunno if they have that in Vegas, but it's worth looking into. Folks are very willing to FREEcycle clothing, mags, books, plants, landscaping, etc - I've actually seen everything from kitchen sinks to front doors!
Good Luck in your search! |

| I live in Fort Myers so I can get to Sarasota, Tampa and Miami within two hours or so. I buy book lots, antiques, check "curb alerts," (you'd be surprised by what people throw away...in good neighborhoods. I take road trips to check out vehicles (usually Escalades). I sell the books at the flea market and online. Take the antiques to set out at the antique mall. Wholesale out the curb freebies. Sell the vehicles wholesale to dealers. It's a good living. |

| It really depends alot on your location and the items you are looking for. I've found that small items like phones, batteries, car adapters and things that will ship easily would be more easily found on ebay. I only use craiglist for cars both buying and selling and I make extremely good money at it. I fix em up and sell em. It's a God-send for me. |

| I'm in the NJ/NY area, and I completed outfitted my youngest daughter with everything she needs for her second child. My granddaughter is 10 years younger then her brother, so it was like starting new all over again. Between getting great items at low cost, I got oodles of things free (curb alerts). And I never traveled more then 10 miles from my home. Now.. getting all of this stuff to her in PA was a monumental task, but was she ever so grateful, as none of us had the money to buy new. I love Craigslist. |

| just a thought you could place a couple of adds on CL under free and wanted listings and have them say that your intrested in used items that someone hasen't any use for any longer and you will pick up in this particular area and state what your intrested in getting a win win for both parties and simple to do a no brainer |

| LindaJean, You may also want to try Goodwill, the Library, and we also have a Hospice resale store. I get magazines, and craft books for .10 to .25 at the library and hospice around here (Daytona Beach area). I pay a little more at Goodwill. |
