|

According to NetApplications, Windows XP is still the OS of choice for users out there in ComputerLand, with some two-thirds of users still making use of the aging OS. By comparison, Vista is struggling to capture a quarter of the market share. Vista’s “WOW!” failed to capture the attention of users, as many chose to stick with their older OS.
If you are an XP user, has what you’ve seen of Windows 7 made you willing to ditch XP?
The way I see it, Microsoft needs to be putting effort into marketing Windows 7 to those currently using XP. After all, those already using Vista have shown a willingness to switch OSes already, and moving from Vista to 7 isn’t that much of a leap. It’s those entrenched XP users that present a problem for Microsoft. These people, for whatever reason, turned their backs on Vista, and it’s these people that Microsoft needs to win back.
But it’s not going to be easy.

not until M$ absolutely forces me to change. the best OS from MS was 3.x... 95 was a dud... 98 was ok and much better then 95. I still used on 98 till just a couple years ago.

As long as I don't have to get within 100 yards of Vista...
We bought a refurb laptop preloaded with Vista. Totally explains why the thing was so cheap... |

| I had a chance to buy 3 desktops with vista for 200 dollars each. I just said no. My son has one with vista. What a joke. I suspect 7 will be about as bad. |

Ditch XP?
I have yet to move up to XP.
I'm still running Win 98 SE....
But then again, I'm using an old Barney class computer, under dial-up. |

Don't laugh but I'm still on windows 2000.
My poor Momma updated from XP to Vista and has had nothing but trouble since. While in a rage over Vista last November she gave me her old XP which I've since updated for future use.
I like the idea of "if it's not broke, don't fix it!" |

| Well, I still have my 98 SE disks... and I have XP... but... know M$... don't upgrade at least the SP2 comes out for it. Vista totally missed the boat. Its fine for gamers... just not everything that other internet users need. |

| I'm running Vista, but probably won't jump to 7 just out of fear of losing any information in the jump. Never had any problems with Vista as it is anyways. |

I agree with you, I never switched to vista, as nothing would work on it.
And now a lot of the programmes are available for Vista, they are putting out a new OS, which will take a year or three to get the programmes up to speed, and then they will change it again.
I think it is time to switch totally but not to a windows Operating system. |
