Ioffer now displays its listing count on its homepage. I'm impressed that another site is gaining slowly but surely on Ebay. I'm sure other sites druel for this kind of success but Ioffer grabbed the wand and is running with it.
Ioffer is completely overhauling the auction site and it's looking really good. Although some of the script functions do not perform well yet and the server is kinda slow they are working on these problems and hopefully will get them running smoothly soon.
I'm impressed with the new store pages and about me sections. The store design pages should have more design capabilities and a "install header function" on the store tab but this store design page is new and we will wait and see what new design functions are added down the road. I would like to install a custon header on the store page.
I myself am just glad there is another site whichever site it may be that is offering up a place to sell that gets some traffic. Ioffer has a way to go in the traffic area but will attract buyer traffic as people find out about the massive overhaul and redesign Ioffer is doing to its auction site. A big plus would be if Ioffer got its servers working faster. |

I'm glad that iOffer is doing so well now because I flooded them with so much traffic, I know I must have made their business more popular and made them work to improve it.
It's good to hear that they're doing better because it is always a good thing to hear that the competition is truly shaking it up, as that will obviously force the others to shape up their own businesses. Or miss out.
iOffer and the like are truly in my opinion much better marketplaces, they just don't have the same recognition. It is quite nice to not have any listing fees whatsoever. I have sold through iOffer countless times.
I would say the market can afford this, as it's the best time to shop, when you have four to six giants competing for the online commerce area and equally doing well - because then one or the other, will have to offer the better venue.
In this case one of them, namely Bonanzle, will have to care more about the seller first & work to serve them as priority -only changing policy to compete as necessary. |

Ioffer is maintained. Ioffer has changed the site dramatically in the past 6 months. The store fronts are new and were just added about 2 or 3 weeks ago. They just added a shipping calculator but it doesn't specify between first class, parcel post, priority or express and is no good until they add all the different shipping options.
You're correct about things not working up to snuff but it's not because of lack of maintenance. It's because the site is being overhauled and this may take another year or two before they finish. Yes, writing all the programs, installing them, working out the bugs takes a very very long time.
I see improvements and get a sale hear and there so I can't complain. |

| I browsed Ioffer about a year ago, looking for something in particular. It was just too much work to buy something. I have to say that I am very impressed when I visit there today... I will be buying on iOffer. Keep up the good work! Just curious, why isn't ioffer on the Site Count? |

Ioffer cut the cord to PSU for some reason. Ioffer has the item count on its home page now. Maybe PSU cut the cord to Ioffer. No one knows. I kinda lean towards Ioffer cutting the cord but that's just speculation.
Last time I looked Ioffers item count on their home page was something like 33 million items.
Ioffer is starting to look good and the navigation is getting better. They have made soooooooo many improvements. |

Where is the listing count? I see the "31+ million items" but no listing count. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. |

If you mean the categories list with a breakdown of listings in each specific category I can't recall seeing that either. Ioffer doesn't do that.
The last time PSU had the count working for Ioffer their listings were at 7 million and climbing fast so I don't have any problem believing the count is up to 31 million now.
Ioffer went from about 300,000 listings to over 7 million in about a years time or so. They are booming.
The only problem is they probably have more items for sale than buyers or site browsers right now but that will change in the future. |

Ok so you're referring to the 31 million figure. That's fine but it's an item count, not a listing count.
To offer a bit of perspective, Atomic Mall has an item count of 5.2 million, with a listing count of ~183,000. |

Well, you got me on that one. I was always under the impression that if you had " 1 " (one) item then you had " 1 " (one) listing.
5.2 million items listed would equal 5.2 million listed items.
OK, I'm stumped now. My brain is in overload as to how 5.2 million items equals 183,000 listings. Maybe each listing has about 26 items?
Please explain? |

On almost any site, there will be some listings with a quantity of one item, and some listings that may have large quantities of the item available. For example, on Amazon.com, I think we're allowed to list up to 999 of any item at a time. So Amazon sellers will have listings that may include anywhere between one and 999 of that item. |

I'm very aware of the multiple items in one listing. I've used it several times and have seen other auction site web stores with large quantities of the same item in one listing. Lots of retailers with huge item quantities in one listing.
I'm sure Ioffer has boocoo plenty of these retailers who list multiple items in one listing.
But!, I also know the single item listings completly outweigh the mulitiple items listings and the numbers that were given leave a huge gap.
I don't disbelieve anyone. 183,000 listings with 5.2 million items. Big gap. Could be.
I can't go any further until I find out how many members Atomic Mall has. But I also know some sites don't have any function for members to cancel their accounts and wipe the slate clean on alot of auction sites. Even though a site may preach 2000 members they may only have a couple of hundred active because sellers tried the site and moved on without being able to delete their account on the auction site. I also know that foreigners register on sites just because they like it or want to spam the site.
Can't say anything about it without the true numbers and god knows those numbers will never be released.
But, "if" I'm going to "Believe" what Atomic Mall states then why shouldn't I believe what Ioffer states?
I would like to see Ioffers true numbers also but that will never happen either. Ioffer states 31 million items, Atomic Mall states 183,000 listings with 5.2 million items. Who's to say without an IRS audit for the truth. |

Members = 17,877
Stores with at least one item = 927
I don't see how that relates to the item count vs. listing count though, and those numbers were given.

IOffer didn't state their listing count. We only know the item count which is not the same thing.

AtomicMall just gave you their numbers. I would take that as the truth. |

I can get a rough picture with the numbers. Even though we don't know the variables and the numbers you gave can be "fudged" by techs who work on the script an outline can be drawn. Won't be accurate and far from accurate without the variables. |
