I have a question for all of you experts out there. I have a google base account and have listings on Google Base. I also have listed on other sites that feed to google base.
Has anyone else had the problem of Google deactivating one or more multiple feeds / sites?
How have you gotten around this - if you have? |

GB recently changed their TOS a bit and sellers had to "approve" of the new format and TOS. I personally had to RL all of my items over there which went smoothly.
Others HERE have mentioned their products are no longer feeding into the GB search after Oking the new TOS  |

I do know that Google doesn't like seeing multiple listings for the same item...they tend to drop them all.
So if you are using multiple sites, perhaps the best thing you could do is offer different items on each site. That way you stay in Google, and don't have to worry about an item selling on one site and forgetting to update the rest of them. |

| Very true, elgato. I just finished having to revise over 900 items after approving the new TOS. Sent an email to google about my items showing up as disapproved. Apparently I had to clear out any reference to shipping and such in my description area. Well I'll have to wait and see. |

| OK, you guys that responded and said you have multiple accounts. Did you use the same name on all the accounts? Same email? forward emails to your original email? |

My feed to Bonanzle no longer works, but it was exactly like my web site feed. They never sent me any message about it, it simply no longer works.
I still have a feed from ecrater to google, but it is different than my web site.
All three have separate Google accounts. |

| If you have the same items listed with the same store name, chances are you are going to get one or all of your feeds booted out the door! Google does frown on like items being listed on multiple sites...I doubt that they are going to go through each and every item to see if they are unique to the site they are listed on. Trying to brand a store name using the same name on several sites, could be like shooting yourself in the foot. |

I should have also added that I have separate emails along with the separate accounts and different names for each company. I was actually mlash for Bonanzle. The prices were different also, because Bonanzle was rounding the numbers when I uploaded my inventory.
The titles were the same though, and I believe that was the red flag. |

| Just an update guys. My second submittal has been disapproved. Even after all that revising using their suggestions, can't figure out what else to do and I do not have same items listed on different sites. Sports cards and some collectibles on one site, and shirts on another. |

| I can understand the problem Google is having with duplicate listings from the same seller and having duplicated sites at different locations but what about the folks having feed problems listing at one or two sites with different products? For me it all started when I ok'd the new TOS, now it's like I'm invisible. |

I have the same name - 2BOYSandTOYS - at both eCrater and AtomicMall. I also use that at Plunderhere (but haven't seen PH items in google shopping for a few days/longer).
I have some exact same titles.
As of this morning, both site feeds went thru OK - one exception out of 1,xxx items at eCrater - and I did not bother to look at it.
What a pain - hopefully someone can truly have the exact answer for others to get their items visible in searches.... :? :? |

I do not believe that duplicate titles from different accounts flags as duplicate content, causing rejection. On the other hand duplicate titles, or very similar titles in the same feed can be seen as duplicates.
What I've found by test is that once an item is rejected out of products, sometimes the case may be that the product will always be rejected no matter what you do. Some of the ways Google decides a particular listing is that same product are: by item id, by title, and by your item's url. The latter deserves some attention. Assuming that I'm right, then as long as your item has the same url, no matter how you change your title, description or product attributes it will still be rejected. Some feeds, like Bonanzle's, might be constructing the url from the title, and in those cases changing the title (while correcting whatever broke the feed in the first place) should do the trick. In other cases you'd have to cancel the listing and relist. On a webserver you control there would be more options with mod-rewrite or altering database indexes. But in short I believe that the old url's must be discarded somehow in order to resurrect certain kinds of rejected feeds. |
