I am starting too list items on other platforms I am kinda slow at it on alternatives.
I still only listed 5 tonight besides what i listed on the main store tonight.
I am trying to diversify in case we are all kicked off down the road
Looking for more sites as well but still testing the waters |

I noticed a few of your choices and eCrater is an excellent site, but if you are going to list on Blujay...you might read through some of their threads here at PSU. They are rarely in Google...so if you are going to open a store there, it would be to your benefit to start a Google feed on your own.
Bonanzle is also very nice site which is growing every day, and AM seems to be doing quite well.
Good luck! :D |

Good for you adding Blujay to a store for selling on.
I find my items show up on google a lot, using google alerts I can tell when they do.
I use a lot of groups to post to and have found people finding me on search a lot.
Keywords are all so important. |

I Listed a few items way back when  and kind of let it go however on the alt sites since i see very little sales and the more i think it may because people have nothing to buy on those sites So I decided to start listing again I listed 5 items and also twitter them (since mo from alsoshop twitter all there stuff i figured it can't hurt)
But I am not sure how the goggle stuff works and things
I started to double list again (slowly) |

Hi gooddeals,
I sell items similar to yours. Sold a fair amount on blujay until about 6 months ago. My items stopped making it to Google about that time. eCrater uploads to Google daily I think as ALL of my eCrater items are listed on Google within 24 hours. You can do a Google search on your store name and see what turns up in "shopping" Same with Bonanzle -all items make it to Google, depending on how you set up your store feed. Bonanzle is as much a social site as a selling site and your search placement is based on how much you chat and socialize on their forums as much as your sales reputation or feedback.
I've NEVER done anything special with my listings anywhere - no bullet points. I often use all caps (supposedly an awful thing to do if you want to get to google) I don't use any special attributes or wording. I don't repeat my title in my listing (many say you HAVE to) Maybe I'm just lucky or Google likes my stuff. It's up to them what they accept. As you say, for me Twitter and most of the other social sites are time-consuming and I'm not convinced of a payoff in sales. To each his/her own.
A brand new book site that looks great, but is still working a few bugs out is bookspotauctions.com. Only for books, mags, ephemera etc. Has a lot of features that booksellers and similar can't get on the other alternatives - special book categories etc. They're not completely free to list (almost) but the site is much less expensive than abebooks, Amazon, alibris and other book sites. Great potential there I think.
I've had great sales on Amazon for a long time - expensive to sell there, but you can get much more for your stuff.
I think you're right about sellers listing their less desirable stuff on the alternatives. Many seem to have been testing the waters with low end items. This may have had a negative influence on sales. I'm noticing better quality stuff lately though. I find that the better the stuff I list - the better it sells. Less desirable items used to sell better on ebay as somebody might happen on it and bid - not anymore.
Good luck. |

to the creator of this posting,
I would urge caution with your plans to post ads at multiple sites. Google is going to start enforcing it's rules of allowing this sort of thing. Unless you are planning on creating ads that are greatly different from one another then all your hard work could be for nothing in a months time.
Google has always had that rule but they are now going to start enforcing it and as a suggestion only, possibly consider posting your ads in sites that do not have the difficulties of staying in Google for the best chance of selling your items.
The very best of luck on all your ventures and a pleasant afternoon to all |

This is an FYI Alert.
And although it is social it is actually social as in being conductive for being involved with your customer. Social in that there are live boot chats and IRC links and all the rest. I have noticed that the boards are the same on every site we are at mostly. |

| shopkeeper85 that only applies if you are using the same store name in multiple sites using a different store name will get around googles rules on duplicate listings |

| And since Blujay rarely shows up on Google at all, it doesn't matter much, now does it? |
