I posted a few ads.
For every valid email received, I get 50+ from spammer dating services.
I have the email address hidden, but they just use the CL system to by pass it.
Is there a trick I am missing or is this just great waste of my time?

| I've had the same experience. Between the better half and I, we've posted probably 15 ads in the last few years and had two legitimate persons reply to them. My own opinion now is that I"m better off spending ten bucks on the local newspaper classifieds. |

When I've run ads on CL, I don't make use of their email system.
Instead, I give a phone number where I can be reached.
Never had a problem. |

I've had a few spammers, but very few. I got two emails from people looking to buy stuff I had tonight.
And one who's supposed to get some jeans tomorrow.
But I have gotten some weird emails, but not as many as some. Maybe used kids clothes, and ferret cages don't bring out the scammers! |

I have only have had one spammer from craig's list. Maybe because we are a fishing and hunting store..

Yes the spammers are taking over craigslist, but I do like Dalizards and list my phone number. I sell something everyday through CL.
I read on the forums over there that they are trying to figure a way to make the spammers go away, because lately they are running rampant. I sure hope thay do not have to do anything that will change the ease of using CL. This is a great outlet for me. Always gotta be somebody that will ruin it for others. |

| There are also lots of viruses, as Craigslist has little to no security, as to what you click on or type in and direct your computer to. Probably to least safe place to sell and shop on the entire internet. |

I do very well on cl. I publish my phone number in the ad and accept only cash. I say no money orders or cashiers checks.
I get no spam anymore. All the spam comes from a few people. When they decide they can't con you they move on. |
