SALES ARE UP AT ONLINEAUCTION.COM

While sales for the on line industry as a whole are down, sales at OnlineAuction.com are at an all-time high and still climbing with no end in site. Many good things happened at OnlineAuction.com during 2008, but nothing like the stability of improved SEO work that has resulted in tremendous sales growth during the first 2 quarters of 2009. Year to year sales increased over 185% during Q1-2009 and increased over 350% during Q2-2009. Q2-2009 exceed all sales during 2008.

It has taken a while to fully develop the extensive programming the site has now, not to mention the fact that the sites growth has mainly been driven from organic growth; word of mouth. As you can see from the chart above it has all paid off. This site has really become alive in 2009 and shows no sign of slowing down.

At OnlineAuction.com we are aware of the fact that many business are struggling right now, whether they are an on line store or brick and mortar store. This is why we feel it is important to let everyone know that sales are UP at OnlineAuction.com

The members of OnlineAuction.com are welcome with open arms by support teams that are willing to assist members in any way that they can. This is available through support@onlineauction.com as well as the 800 number 1-800-900-2828 that is answered by our knowledgeable staff. The members here at OnlineAuction.com are also here to assist other members. They do this not only because they are terriffic people, but because they know that as one grows, we all grow. Together we are strong!

No, I am not the founder... lol... and I'm not employed by OnlineAuction.com... lol... It is one of only two sites that work for me.

I've been with OnlineAuction.com since I left eBay in February 2008. I have tried other sites, but OnlineAuction.com provided the best fit for what I sell, how I sell, and why I sell.

I also sell on another, smaller site. I don't promote it here because this forum is for OnlineAuction.com. I don't promote it anywhere here at PSU but I do promote it at other discussion sites.

As for others promoting different sites: One of the lessons that selling at the Bay taught us was not to keep all of our eggs in one basket, which is why many sellers sell at several venues.

Every site is like that... some work well for certain folks, some do not. :)

I would truly like to see the actual numbers that these percentages are based on.

Are these figures based on the dollar amounts, or the number of items sold? And, are they based on actual completed transactions, or do they include all of the NPB and fraudulent sellers that seem to be on the rise at the site?

All we have is a pie chart from some guy named James... who is James?

I tried contacting the knowledgeable staff through support@onlineauction.com as well as the 800 number 1-800-900-2828, but without any luck. Maybe some of the members at OnlineAuction.com that are also there to assist could help get some answers.

It must be welcome news though, because I've seen this message posted all over the place... blogs, chat rooms (almost to the point of spam). I even received a copy in my buyer Omail account... they can't get the system to send out buyer notifications, but they can send omail messages with "yesterday's news".

Meanwhile, history continues to repeat itself-
Live from the OLA chats:
(the names have been changed to protect the innocent)
"The site is still having problems today. I sold an item this afternoon and never received my email from Ola., I again was omailed by the buyer, asking how to pay." --- sxftish

"In the meantime, I hope OLA can make this site more buyer friendly." --- cornyduster

"I have a seller that doesn't respond - He has great feedback, and is a founding member.. Or was.. I bought the item last week, but still haven't heard from him after 3 omails." --- JustCurious

"I don't think new buyers to Ola understand the "notify by omail or email" choice. I've resorted to searching on ebay for buyers with the same id" ---sxftish

"The completing the transaction part of OLA does seem a bit rough around the edges. For all the faults and fees of the other site...you have to admit, completing the transaction was in general VERY smooth and seamless." --- BVD-inner-prizes

"Still can't connect to the testimonials link on the front page. Hope this can get fixed, or re-worked. Kinda frustrating for new people wanting to check out this site." --- JustCurious

"Ola needs to get the kinks worked out to be ready for the influx of new customers, as people are becoming more aware of our site." --- sxftish

"clear your cookies, and try again." --- Reena

Is there some reason you can't get peoples names and ID's right, instead choosing to make them dirty inuendos? Is there some reason you can't behave like an adult and have an adult discussion, instead choosing to challenge from a nasty and hateful place?

Give me a break. This is/was a positive thread and while I figured there'd be some discussion, there was no need to come in here and get nasty and ugly.

I'm reporting both our posts to save you the time of reporting mine.

As I noted, the names were changed to protect the innocent... If you need to buy a sense of humor, you can purchase one from RahRestrms.

I didn't see it as nasty or hateful.
Can you help answer my questions?

One break, comin' up!...
Nothing I said was nasty or ugly. This can still be a positive thread (if you let it).

Since BBR decided to cut and paste from my post in chats at Ola, I thought I would give the entire post here to give true perspective. The op was because someone had a new buyer who didn't know that she needed to go into her omail to find her invoice-that she wouldn't receive it in an email like with ebay. She wanted to know if there was an easier way to contact the buyer than having the staff at Ola make contact for her. I posted:

"I had a couple of items that sold over the weekend and didn't get a notification from Ola either. Luckily, the buyer had omailed me, so I caught it right away.

I don't think new buyers to Ola understand the "notify by omail or email" choice. I've resorted to searching on ebay for buyers with the same id, and if I found someone with the exact same id, emailing them to say that if they just purchased such and such an item from me on Ola, they need to go to Ola's home page, log in and check their omail to find the invoice. It has worked surprisingly well, but it is kind of a pain and not very professional looking. I do think that this is something Ola needs to address though, because it is essential to the success of this site that the buying process be as simple to use as possible."

After Renee posted that there was a problem with automated emails, I added:

"The site is still having problems today. I sold an item this afternoon and never received my email from Ola., I again was omailed by the buyer, asking how to pay. Everyone should probably check their sold items every day to make sure they aren't missing something. Fortunately, my buyer knew to check her omail and found her invoice. She's paid already and her item will go out tomorrow, along with a welcome-to-Ola/thanks for giving us a try free gift. She was my second new-to-Ola buyer in 2 days, plus I got an omail today from a 0 feedback buyer who registered to ask a question about one of my items. My views are going up all of the time also, and my stuff is getting great google exposure. Ola needs to get the kinks worked out to be ready for the influx of new customers, as people are becoming more aware of our site. Very Happy"

BBR, you might also have mentioned that while some of the comments in my post were something less than complimentary to Ola, I wasn't ganged up on, flamed or kicked off Ola. Goes against what some here like to say. Oh, and by the way, made another sale to another brand new to Ola buyer after my last post. Yes, there is room for improvement, but I really love Ola. :D

I am happy that you are making sales, but the same issue about the OMAIL is the same when I was there 3 years ago.

Metzy, You really need to take a step back and reread BBR's post. There is nothing nasty or dirty about his post.

Your posting just makes it look like you don't agree with your fellow OLA members and you didn't want BBR posting what they said.

Sixftrs, The reason BBR did it that way IMO is to save on room because he wanted to put what other people said also. It is frowned upon here if your posts are to long.

I would like to know what percentage of the sales were to that certain buyer who spends an average of $15,000 per week. Right now he has bids over $50,000 - I would also like to know what percentage of sales were for coins. In looking at the what's sold, without coins or the one buyer, sales would be down not up.

BTW, I called OLA and asked these questions but they said it was impossible to give me the answers.

So I must be the only one who thought changing SixFtrs to SxFtish (sex fetish) and BVRenterprises to BVD-inner-prizes (I'm not even going to go there), etc. was out of line?

He used to sell at OLA and he knows full well that the questions he has can (and should) only be answered by OLA Administration. It's been posted in this forum in response to his (and others) questions that those questions are for OLA Admin... not OLA Sellers/Buyers.

He was out of line. Period.

There were some problems today on OnlineAuction.com... it happens everywhere, but you don't see OnlineAuction buyers and sellers going to those forums and making a big deal out of it. Why can't we ask for the same consideration?

As for why he just posted the little quips, isn't it ironic that he only posted the less-than-positive parts? Just like every other thread you guys take over, you only tell the parts you want new visitors to see... half-truths at best.

Oh wow! My business mind usually does not look for sexual things in what people write. I don't think BBR intentionally did that. Metzy, do you always examine every word that someone writes to find something that you think is wrong?

And I don't understand why you feel the need to come in here and attack anyone who critisizes OnlineAuction.com. They are not attacking you or anyone else at OnlineAuction.com except maybe the incompetent owners and programmers.

My mind doesn't work that way either... it was that obvious... even a blind man would've seen through it...

edited to add:

He didn't come to this thread to criticize OLA, he came to make his usual nasty remarks and to ruin the thread. And he has, once again, enjoyed baiting me... and gotten away with it... just like you all do everytime there is a positive post in this forum.
