naturelover5676 wrote (View Post): › docWrite("quote")Metzy, You really need to take a step back and reread BBR's post. There is nothing nasty or dirty about his post.

Your posting just makes it look like you don't agree with your fellow OLA members and you didn't want BBR posting what they said.

Sixftrs, The reason BBR did it that way IMO is to save on room because he wanted to put what other people said also. It is frowned upon here if your posts are to long.

So I must be the only one who thought changing SixFtrs to SxFtish (sex fetish) and BVRenterprises to BVD-inner-prizes (I'm not even going to go there), etc. was out of line?

He used to sell at OLA and he knows full well that the questions he has can (and should) only be answered by OLA Administration. It's been posted in this forum in response to his (and others) questions that those questions are for OLA Admin... not OLA Sellers/Buyers.

He was out of line. Period.

There were some problems today on OnlineAuction.com... it happens everywhere, but you don't see OnlineAuction buyers and sellers going to those forums and making a big deal out of it. Why can't we ask for the same consideration?

As for why he just posted the little quips, isn't it ironic that he only posted the less-than-positive parts? Just like every other thread you guys take over, you only tell the parts you want new visitors to see... half-truths at best.

Oh wow! My business mind usually does not look for sexual things in what people write. I don't think BBR intentionally did that. Metzy, do you always examine every word that someone writes to find something that you think is wrong?

And I don't understand why you feel the need to come in here and attack anyone who critisizes OnlineAuction.com. They are not attacking you or anyone else at OnlineAuction.com except maybe the incompetent owners and programmers.

My mind doesn't work that way either... it was that obvious... even a blind man would've seen through it...

edited to add:

He didn't come to this thread to criticize OLA, he came to make his usual nasty remarks and to ruin the thread. And he has, once again, enjoyed baiting me... and gotten away with it... just like you all do everytime there is a positive post in this forum.

Wow, Metzy, I am sorry but I agree with Nature in that I didn't even connect sexual innuendos to the names. Once again, BBR came to question the report. There are many of us who have questions about the numbers and as I stated previously, OLA refused to give me the answers to my questions regarding coins and the one super buyer. Take those away and sales are DOWN.

I also asked how many members does OLA currently have since it seems that it is the same 25 or 30 who participate in all the sales, games, etc. and they removed the link for Founding Members. As for the new buyers are concerned, I was told from a seller still at OLA that a lot of them are now using a new ID for buying to make it look like more members have joined.

And I ask again, if listings are down almost 60%. How are sales up? What figures are these numbers based on? The listing numbers come directly from here.

Where is OLA getting there facts from? Its really a simple question with no malice attached to it.

I don't normally chime in on any OLA thread, as I bought from Metzy Mom only once (loved your soap) and I'm not a seller there, preferring to work on my own personal website instead. However, I do have a question. Is there some kind of programming fluke or something? I'd like to know how many times I'm going to get the same notice to read the same OMail? I've gotten 3 already, and I am finding it annoying that I keep getting notified to read the same Omail. I think one notice was enough. Can anyone advise me how I can stop these notifications, as I find OLA confusing to navigate. I'm a real DUH  when it comes to all the Idiosyncrasies of the various sites.

I canceled my acct last Nov & still get their spam in spite of numerous requests to delete my email.

Finally just reported them as spam & blocked from email.

Nothing there for me either as a buyer or seller. Just a pathetic PITA to me.

Juliartz, I have to agree with you. I have gotten the same email for 3 days about sales being up at Onlineauction. Sales are better at the fleamarket. Onlineauction is a joke. Please Stop the Spam. I have called to cancel my account. I better not be billed for another year!!!! Here is my reply from Rowen.Hi Camelia,

I'm only a buyer there, and don't plan on closing that option. I like Metzy's soap. As for selling, like I said, with the work I hear involved in setting up a store there, it seems to me, like the work I'm doing on my own website, and I'd much rather have my own site, then be beholden to any one place. I mean, I do list in a few alternates, but I don't want to work that hard on an alternate like I'd have to do on my own site. I'd rather devote that kind of labor/time to something thats mine, trully mine, where only I would benefit. Sounds a tad selfish, but, my time is so limited, I'd rather keep some of it to myself! (Now... back to my job.. if I get caught... :? I'm in deep doo doo! This was my mental  break...)

BBRsignWeRKS wrote (View Post): › docWrite("quote")I would truly like to see the actual numbers that these percentages are based on.

Are these figures based on the dollar amounts, or the number of items sold? And, are they based on actual completed transactions, or do they include all of the NPB and fraudulent sellers that seem to be on the rise at the site?

All we have is a pie chart from some guy named James... who is James?

I tried contacting the knowledgeable staff through support@onlineauction.com as well as the 800 number 1-800-900-2828, but without any luck. Maybe some of the members at OnlineAuction.com that are also there to assist could help get some answers.

It must be welcome news though, because I've seen this message posted all over the place... blogs, chat rooms (almost to the point of spam). I even received a copy in my buyer Omail account... they can't get the system to send out buyer notifications, but they can send omail messages with "yesterday's news".

Meanwhile, history continues to repeat itself-
Live from the OLA chats:
(the names have been changed to protect the innocent)
"The site is still having problems today. I sold an item this afternoon and never received my email from Ola., I again was omailed by the buyer, asking how to pay." --- sxftish

"In the meantime, I hope OLA can make this site more buyer friendly." --- cornyduster

"I have a seller that doesn't respond - He has great feedback, and is a founding member.. Or was.. I bought the item last week, but still haven't heard from him after 3 omails." --- JustCurious

"I don't think new buyers to Ola understand the "notify by omail or email" choice. I've resorted to searching on ebay for buyers with the same id" ---sxftish

"The completing the transaction part of OLA does seem a bit rough around the edges. For all the faults and fees of the other site...you have to admit, completing the transaction was in general VERY smooth and seamless." --- BVD-inner-prizes

"Still can't connect to the testimonials link on the front page. Hope this can get fixed, or re-worked. Kinda frustrating for new people wanting to check out this site." --- JustCurious

"Ola needs to get the kinks worked out to be ready for the influx of new customers, as people are becoming more aware of our site." --- sxftish

"clear your cookies, and try again." --- Reena

You know everyone. I don't understand what they are all complaining about. Isn't OnlineAuction.com just like the Mall? You rent a space for your B/M store but the mall isn't responsible for how you get paid are they? Isn't that what we keep hearing is how this is your own business? Ola has nothing to do with how you run your business. I know I've heard that one before.

I don't think it's selfish. I think it works for you and your business. Everyone should be so lucky as to be as grounded. You know what you want and how to get there. You know what works for you and what doesn't. Everyone should find what works for them and forget about what doesn't.

Personally, I applaud you and your business sense for yourself.

Update:

Tried calling again today to get the information on the numbers but again was told to hold then was disconnected. Tried again and was on hold for 10 minutes so I hung up - I guess they just don't want us to know the truth.

Hey Juli, same here, I'm up to five "Daily Digest" notifications now... all for the same message. They are really proud of that pie chart by James. Who is James?

You know, I never have truly understood the need for "O-mail", except that it is supposed to be more secure. It always seemed to me that email worked just fine for all of my transactions. O-mail just seems like one more thing that can go wrong. Keep it simple.

My main problem with O-mail is that all of the member messages are stored on their servers. Once an account is deleted, so are the messages. When they turned out the lights on me, they eliminated all of the correspondence between me and "HotRod"... I had no way to defend myself.

Also, I never understood why the OLA chats have disabled PM's. That is the only site I've ever seen that happen. What is it about OLA that creates so much animosity?

BBR, I remember when the wrong people were getting someone elses omails. You sure didn't want to send anything personal to your friends then.

Well, I guess I can count myself lucky... I only got 4 omail notifications, but that is because it took me about 20 or so minutes to figure out how to get to my settings. I don't know why it has to be so confusing for DUH's like me  . Please don't ask me how cause I really was just blindly clicking. I found a way to disable those news/update notifications. Lets hope thats over with, as I don't like getting repetitive emails of any kind. And I don't know who Jerry is. The only stats that would impress me is my own, but since that is far far down the road.... I guess I'll have to be happy for others... No, but really. I'm happy that they are happy. I'm happy for any site that can make improvements and help sellers sell. Afterall, that is what we are all here for anyway. I don't wish ill on anyone/site, and I can thank others at PSU for the education on where to try and where not to. Of course, I realize that I can try anyplace, but like I've already said, if I'm going to bust my big white ...... to promote my wares, I would rather put that kind of work on my own site, singing to my own tune, and not have to answer to anyone/thing but myself. I can't be locked out of my site unless I screw it up (and that is a real possibility... ), I can't be berated by anyone not agreeing with my opinion, and my google search is totally upon me. And I don't have to play games to make a sale. I'm hoping that once my site is done (sometime soon I really hope), I can promote the heck outta it. Only I can make or break it, not a site owner, not a forum, and not what is commonly referred to as cheerleaders. No one can dictate to me when I've paid my hosting fees....
Well, gotta go, grandson is kicking me off of my computer!

Darn, I only got one. And, in answer to my "quote" of not being able to read the testimonials, and being told to clear my cache/cookies to make that feature work properly, it did, and problem was resolved. Respectfully, JustCurious, another satisfied customer of onlineauction.com for 13 months.
