Very Nicely done! Image now appears "above the fold."

Professional. Nice!

Its standard that auctionsites include a thumbnail "above the fold." I don't see how adding that thumbnail is going to generate additional sales, do you?

I've only noticed it on feepay.

Oops, spoke too soon! Found that the pre-made software that bid-up, abidders, webidz and bid-alot use do have small thumbnails at the top. The ones that don't use this particular software don't seem to, except for ebay and ecrater. The ones that I found that don't even have the thumbnail are yahoo, TAM, Ioffer, Fotoads and USIFF. These are just the ones that I checked. :D

Yes, but I appreciate Yahoo's placing the thumbnails within the listings (browsing categories and search results) themselves. I do believe they're included free too.

BC (when they don't lose them) and iOffer have the pics "above the fold" if you load a pic thru them. they aren't thumbs but full size. As I usually have the pics in my template, it's usually redundant, but if I don't load one there is no "gallery" pic as that is the pic they use. Also if you don't have a gallery pic, the froogle feed won't have a pic.

And I think you're pathetic for following her around merely to cut down Bidville.

Dimview, stop trying to get a rise out of supporting members of Bidville. It's pathetic. Sylvia loves Bidville and is excited to talk about it, and you coming in here just to offer up an automatically adverse view is unnecassary.

Yes, We all like a good debate where both sides of an issue are represented, but this is pointless. She loves the site, you obviously don't respect it very much. Both opinions are equally valid. Coming in here to stir trouble and damper the mood of an excited seller is almost as bad as being a board troll.

Some members have claimed your respectable. I think you're a joke. Please leave the good members of this site alone.

Yes we all have sites that work for us and those that don't. Different products sell on different sites.

I know some that just love Yahoo, but I haven't been able to sell a thing there.

Someone I know has done quite well on TAM, yet for most of us, it's been a ghost town.

Personally of late I've been doing very well thru Blujay, yet others have had hardly a hit.

So tell us where YOU have been doing well and leave Sylvia alone.

I agree, Dim, go bug somebody mean, would ya? :D

I also agree about different sites being good for different items. What little I have of vintage items do pretty well on Yahoo, but only brand new collectibles seem to sell for me on Ioffer.

Well hiya TAILS, ya old cutie! thanks for coming over! This is a great site with lots of great info as well as some Dim info.

ROFLMAO @ LFRYARTGUY ....I've always loved your sense of humor dude! Pull up a chair. I'm placing you in charge of charging. YER HIRED! Angel needs to pay her Feepay fees. *giggle*

Teresa & others...agreed about the sites that do and don't make use of the pic above the fold. Overstock (lol) is another that uses it. Anyway, the whole reason I make any kind of point about is that you want something to grab that viewer's attention. And a picture of your lovely item is a really good thing. You want to make that buyer either click on it to get to your listing for more info or scroll down read the listing. Just a nice touch an auction page listing should have IMHO. I'm pleased to see Bidville using it.

I don't like Bidville and have made no bones about it on other boards. But I have also seen and experienced, first hand, Dimview's narrow minded bashing of other sites and anyone who tries to promote any site that is not ebay.

Sylvia, I'm very glad you have having success at Bidville. As I said, I don't llike Bidville, but if you are having success there, go for it.

Dim, this board is not a place for your snide remarks. Here, if you read... the alternative sites seem to be very welcome to promote, infact invited to post about their sites.

Quote: › docWrite("quote")I find it rather odd that Bidville ignored MooTalk and ignores GoodTopics.

There is nothing odd about it at all.

Hello everyone. Personally, I think what BidVille is doing is impressive and its marketplace value for sellers and buyers is increasing dramatically. The VIP,SAFE Program,Thumbnail pics, & Trackpal features are excellent additions. It proves that ownership has finally stepped up to the plate. Once they start advertising a little more effectively, we could have a really great alternative. If you compare the site as it is today to that of even just last year, the result is astounding. I don't have anything listed there at the moment, but as soon as Marketworks integrates with them, I see them as another great venue to sell my products on.
