You summed it up quite well as to why most of us post in regards to OLA. We would rather put the information out so others can view then carefully proceed as they might.
Thank you Goodstuff4you, But I can't take the credit for writing this part;

"My reason for posting is to warn people to try the site monthly before dishing out $196 which is non-refundable."

Confused wrote that part, I wrote the rest of it. But that is why I post here also. I'm still trying to get this whole quote thingy down. lol

I want to know something from a;; you OLA cheerleaders, How is the site growing when the listings have shrunk over 25% this week?

And yes its from one seller, seemed like a good idea to tell them to try another site doesnt it?

And for the record we sell on OLA & Ebid. Currently ebid has almost 500% more listings than OLA. We get 3 times the hits on our stuff there.

Can anybody explain this. And I dont mean babbling with OLA talking points. I want to see your data.

I can look at the auction site counts here and verify mine.

Uncle Mike, Have you read the posts in the forums on OLA? People are leaving or downgrading left and right. They are all realizing that they can't afford to stay there anymore. It's a shame really, but Fain is doing it to himself. Everyone is realizing that Fain is not willing to help them get more buyers to the site. He only wants more sellers to come so he can fill his pockets.

I would love to be wrong about it, but you certainly appear to be correct about that.

Are you visiting the OnlineAuction.com (aka OLA) forum here at PSU for the first time? First, let me say Welcome to PSU and Welcome to the OLA Forums.

As you read, you will find that there are several members who vehemently complain about their OnlineAuction.com experience. There are a few things I'd like you to consider before giving weight to their posts and threads. If, after thinking about these considerations, you think that there is reason to give weight to their posts, all I can say is no problem. I just ask that you ask yourself or consider the following:

1. Look at the posts carefully. Does the poster give you any information on where they currently sell? Ask yourself this question: if the person who posted isn't selling anywhere now, why should their post be credible? I mean look at it this way... were they ever really a seller anywhere, much less OnlineAuction.com?

2. Look at the amount of posts and what tone they take. By clicking on the little 'profile' button at the bottom of their post, you can check how many posts they've done, see all their posts, see what topic they were posting in the most, etc.

Look at some of their recent posts... look at some of their older posts... ask yourself this question: how long have they been posting nothing but negativity about a site they no longer sell on, if they ever sold there in the first place? I mean seriously, how long would a normal person be mad at a venue? How long is it normal to comb through a site you don't like, looking for bits and pieces of stuff to post about the site in a negative way? Some of these people visit OLA on a daily (and pitifully enough, some visit hourly) looking for a single sentence or issue to complain about. If only a line or two of a thread suits their needs, they only copy that portion... not the entire thread, or even the entire post.

3. Consider, if you will, that some of these folks 'claim' to have been founding members but were they really? Were they ever an actual seller at OnlineAuction.com, or anywhere for that matter? You only have their word as proof... remember, you only have the word of someone you've never seen, never met, and this person has given no information as to where they might be selling now. Consider that some sites actually employ members to trash other sites. Unbelievable, but true none-the-less. Remember that you don't know who or what is sitting on the other end typing... and you have no idea of what their motive is. My Grandmother used to say to believe 1/2 of what you see and even less of what you hear... and if she were alive today, she'd add to believe even less of what you read in a public forum.

OnlineAuction.com offers several different memberships. Founding Membership is just one of those types. One type of seller membership requires you to pay by the month (Basic Seller), two are paid annually (Charter and Founding). Regardless of your membership type, all members pay just $8.00 a month for unlimited listings with no listing fees and no final value fees.

4. Remember that PSU lets members exercise Freedom Of Speech, without any need for proof from the poster. Members are free to post anything and everything they like as long as they don't call other members names (and even that is apparently negotiable). So ask yourself: is the person posting telling the truth, a portion of the truth, or out and out lies. While I do believe that there are some valid complaints from the past, most of the current complaints you find here have been addressed and resolved at OnlineAuction.com. Find out for yourself. Do your own research. OnlineAuction isn't without flaws, but it is an on-going work in progress... as all sites of this nature are.

5. Lastly, at least for now, you may wonder why very few happy members from OnlineAuction.com post here. It should become obvious when reading posts started in a happy vein. Posters who have something good to say about OLA are immediately attacked and their threads taken over by the few members who don't like OnlineAuction.com. No one wants to be attacked everytime they visit here... and for that reason, most OLA members do not visit these threads.

Take a moment to visit OnlineAuction.com and check it out for yourself. Don't believe those here who have issues with the site. Don't believe me either. I'm very happy there (since Feb. 2008), but that doesn't mean you will be as happy as I am. Each person and their business has different needs and goals. Decide on yours and then check OnlineAuction.com to see if it will work for you. If you'd like more information, or would like help navigating the site on your visit to OLA, simply click on the 'pm' button below and let me know that you'd like some extra info or help in navigating.

Thank You for reading this and for considering OnlineAuction.com.

The little PM button is to make a Private Message to that person... you are thinking abut the PROFILE button... However, its really just as easy to hit Forum Search.. put in a poster's name in author a partial name iwth an * will do... like Metz* and find every thread they ever posted in, or is mentioned.

Thank You for reading this and for considering OnlineAuction.com.

Go grab a drink or something to munch on, I have a lot to say!!

When I first read what the OP posted, my first thoughts were
1. the poster was just posting to get everyone once again worked up.
2. that indeed it worked.
3.it shows you the mentality of the poster and how OLA works.

But enough about that, I am going to tell you the full story of my experience I had with OLA - onlineauction.com and this was when the poster was not even a member, she cannot discredit one word of mine! I dare her to try! I still have all the emails and MORE!!!

2 years ago I was lured in by a guy name Randy, he sold me a 50lb bag of Soy Wax offsite when he did that, he said hey you should try this Auction Site its only $8.00 a month, I said well that not much money and gave it a try.

I made friends with several different people in the chat rooms. A lot of the people I met where genuine and nice.

I started listing. I maybe had about 200 items to start with, a month went by and I would say on the chat board "I am not making any sales, I am not getting any lookers" basically for the first month I ate the $8.00. I went on the chat board and said, I am in business to make money not lose money. Well some took that not so good and some stayed quiet and others omailed me and said they agreed with me.

There was another member there and we just could not see eye to eye and I made no bones about it! He would post in the chat with his Affiliate code and spam and tell people just a bunch of crap and I would call him on it. I came to OLA as a genuine good person and believed that he was just posting on the chats to get people to sign up and he would tell anyone or do anything to make that $30 or $35 dollars to get people to sign up with his code.

So this other member that also had some dealing with this not so nice guy gotta call from OLA and offered them a free membership and was told not to tell anyone! Well of course that member called me, we had been dealing with a lunatic!! That member and I knew what that was all about, it was to hush up, well guess what? I was offered the same thing and was told not to say anything to anyone.

As time went on, after all the concern that was posted not just by me but others, he would post and lead everyone to believe he was some big wig at onlineauction He started Omailing me and said that I could get my Gold Wings for free and he also said this to another member. He manipulated the OLA contract. I complained to Chris Fain and to Chris Fain's wife and I told them not once but several times about this guy and guess what???? this guy was hired by OLA - Chris Fain gave the smuck a job even after this guy was being deceiving!!!! This guy started emailing at my private email address that I gave to no one but to OLA when I signed up. This guys was sending out Newsletters that was so unprofessionally and asked him why he was bothering me and asked him and Chris Fain in a email, how the Hell did he get my private email address??? I NEVER GAVE OLA PERMISSION TO GIVE THIS GUY MY PRIVATE EMAIL ADDRESS!!! Why in the world after I had complained over and over about this guy would they let this guy get a hold of my private email address!!!!! Not once did Chris Fain reply to any of my emails!! NOT ONCE! I omailed Chris Fains wife of my concerns, this guy was emailing me at my private email address and threatening to Sue me when I wasn't the one who emailed him, he was harassing me!!! and no one was doing anything! No one from OLA got back to me but one person who is no longer working for OLA, a genuine good person that OLA Screwed over!!! That in itself is another story and for private/legal reasons I cannot get into more details.

As time went by, sure I was upset, I was threaten by some guy that OLA hired and they weren't even getting back to me? My privacy was invaded and they DO NOTHING!! You see OLA is a DO NOTHING AUCTION SITE! They try to sweep things under the rug and hopes it goes away! Not once did I receive an apology for the harassment I endeared from some guy they hired to represent OLA! Not once!

So I am still there, playing the who can post the most and win!
I did win one time and the Wonderful Cardmanlou who ran the contest gave out prizes from HIS OWN POCKET! NOT ONLINEAUCTION.COM!! I don't think they truly ever appreciated him!

So I am still there and I have a couple thousand items listed and in 1 year folks I kid you not, I sold 27 items! Some of the members told me in private that they have been there for quite some time and had thousands of listing and maybe sold 1 item a month.

When all this crap was happening, OLA was coming out with this New improved Auction site and it was a hype let me tell you, a hype! But when it came out, it was like wtf?? I think in the heart of hearts of the members it was a big let down. The problems that exist today existed when I was there two years ago!

As far as I can see folks if you want to deal with a unprofessional business owner go for it! You will get nothing but nothing!
I have experience it in real life!

And when the original poster tries to convince you, you must put up a red flag and say to yourself, why?? Why would someone be so unprofessional and duke it out here on a board and try over and over and over to convince you? ahhh red flag, red flag!!

I no longer sell at any other auction site and will always tell you to keep that money in your pocket and do not EVER EVER give your money to OLA - OnlineAuction.com!

enough said!

PS if there are typing or grammatical errors so what!! u get the meaning!! LOL

Metzy, You asked me a question on Ola. Since my chat ID was removed, I will answer it here. You ask if both my Id's were leaving?? Well first of all I never hid behind a second ID. I always posted both ID's. Second of all it was discussed many months ago in the chats about Ola not having secure lock in chats when signing in. This post was deleted. I think this pertains to your post. new people reading this need to know that chats on ola are not secure. Now have I answered your question? There may be just that slight chance of a hacker, from what I was told. BUT why take it. Anyone can verify this when signing in to the private chats. Edited to make correction. This should have stated private chats that are hidden from public unless member.

It's not like you ever made it a secret that you used the alternate ID for the chat rooms. I remember when you first started using it, you advised everyone that you were cammy using an alternate ID for posting due to the non-secure chat room.

Hi Kitten, Thank you for verifying this. As to Metzy question no.1. My name can be looked up on on ebay. I was a power seller with a good standing reputation. I wouldn't post my new seller Id here, because I was threatened and know what can be done to your online reputation by certain people. Ola chats speak for themselves. You will see very few sellers posting on Ola. Same crew over and over. Look at those ratings closely if thinking about joining this site and the dollar amounts the biggest majority of these auctions sell for. Also take a peek at how few featured items are listed. Also beware if signing into the private chats. It isn't a locked secure site.
