My friend is looking for a Pathfinder and found this as on the Daytona Beach Craigslist. My gut feeling is that this is a scam. The seller is in WA and this is only listed in the Daytona Craiglsist
I have never heard of eBay doing what this person has stated in the email my friend received when she inquired about the car.
As I've told you at this moment I am in WA in a military base getting ready for Afghanistan (I hope for the last time).I do a special training program each day and I am not allowed to get out of the unit or give calls whenever I want. The shipping will take 3 to 5 days depends on your location and is not a problem because a have considerable discount from eBay and I can do it at no cost for you. You will receive the car along with all the documents including title, bill of sale, 2 set of keys, full service records and more . Because it is a large transaction we will complete the deal only using an authorized third part like eBay coz I already prearranged the whole process with them, using their escrow Safe Pay Program for vehicles not listed on their website. The car is located in their warehouse in WA (ready for delivery). I've asked them to allow viewers to go there and inspect the car but their reply was: "We are not a showroom!" In this case I will offer a 5 days period to inspect the car from the moment you receive it, before I'll have your money. I think this is more than fair for both of us.
The payment will be handling by eBay Escrow, and you will benefit of 5 days inspection time period (test drive) and the option to accept or reject the car on my expense. If you are still interested just send me your full name and shipping address. I will forward your info to eBay and they will notify you about our deal.Like this you'll be able to talk with them directly and ask all you want to know. |

Flag #1 - "I do a special training program each day and I am not allowed to get out of the unit or give calls whenever I want." Not very likely true - probably baloney
Flag #2 - "The shipping will take 3 to 5 days depends on your location and is not a problem because a have considerable discount from eBay and I can do it at no cost for you." Considerable discount from eBay? For what? eBay doesn't get involved with shipping. And, nobody will offer free shipping on a vehicle - very likely baloney
Flag #3 - "Because it is a large transaction we will complete the deal only using an authorized third part like eBay coz I already prearranged the whole process with them, using their escrow Safe Pay Program for vehicles not listed on their website." Absolutely unlikely - eBay doesn't have a "Safe Pay" escrow program for vehicles not sold at the eBay site. - definite pure baloney
Tell your friend to steer clear of this. This without a doubt, is almost certainly an out and out scam! :? |

| Also just a reminder, if you are going to use an online escrow service, ONLY use ESCROW.COM . They are they only online escrow company that is licensed. |

Another large hunk of Balogna. LOL eB doesn't have any "warehouse" and never takes possession of anything. Another really old scam to "reassure" people that know little to nothing about eB, making it seem like eB has the item when the item most likely doesn't even exist.
Report it to Craigs so it will get pulled for the scam it most definately is.
