|

Google Base is making some changes in the way users can upload items. For merchants who submit inventory, this means they may no longer upload one product listing at a time. According to a post on the Google Base blog, "Most providers submit multiple items at a time, using our data feed or API upload options. As a result, we're planning on retiring this single item upload functionality in Base in a few weeks."
In addition, Google said that in order to keep listings fresh, items older than May 1, 2009, with no expiration date or an expiration date far in the future will soon expire. Additionally, draft items and items uploaded through the "One at a time" option will be deleted after expiration.
Online sellers use Google Base to upload inventory so that it shows up in both Google natural search and in Google Product Search, also known as Google Shopping.

This is bad news for me. I have uploaded by hand all 250 of my items because I cannot use the joomla/PSU store feed. It is ALL wrong.
Also, They will be deleting the "one at a time Items" when they expire. I don't know what to do. |

| You will need to learn to create a datafeed yourself. I"m sure someone can help you with it. |

Oh, now I remember why I had such a problem with PSU store feeds!!!
1. The "Froogle" feed does not include descriptions -
2. The CSV export does not export "custom" columns and includes all my unpublished items!! -
That's right, they are both broken. I'll have to do the spreadsheet by hand. May take a month, but I can type fast, lol :( |

kathykld123 wrote (View Post): › docWrite("quote")Yes, I'm still working on attributes in the store cvs form. It's saving as text. I want columns. I've been this route before, and never could get a spreadsheet out of the $%#^& thing. Lol. I just might have to pay someone to take my raw feed, and put it in excel.
Once I get it on a spreadsheet, I think I'm all set.
Work it to a spreadsheet first... THEN save as text file. Make sure both have slightly different names.
To make a text file go into a spreadsheet in columns, you must seperate the fields or columns by tabs... THEN it will go into the spreadsheet easily.
And if you skip a field, then double tab. |

kathykld123...
I use mozilla firefox (you absolutely cannot use IE it just doesn't go there) and it creates the feeds just fine for me, i export them into open office's calc spreadsheet. I did have to change a couple of column headers names and add condition in their. Your items will also need a unique sku for each one.
I can send you a template of what i use... send me a pm... |
