For Bidville's updated bidding rules, click here.

Since one has to have an account and be logged-in to read Bidville's chatboards, here's what's been done:

The SAFE program is working very well. Each seller can decide who he/she feels safe selling to by setting preferences. And, if someone is blocked, they may request your approval with the click of a button. This gives you the opportunity to look at their feedback, About Me, etc. In addition to the rules you each set, Bidville has imposed a few bidding rules that apply to everyone. First, bidders may only bid on 5 different items in a 14 day period. If the bidder has at least a +2 rating or they have a credit card on file with Bidville, the restriction is lifted. Second, to bid on an item over $20, the bidder must have a +10 rating or have a credit card on file. Once again, anyone that is blocked by your settings OR the Bidville settings, can request your approval to bid. If you approve them, they will not be blocked by our settings.

Good morning Dimview!

Thanks for the post. Here's more info. I received this email update as a registered member, as I'm sure others have.

As a seller, I gotta tellya I was concerned about using it. Well, I set it up & everything & the next day I received a notice that someone was requesting permission to bid on two of my items. New user, no feedback, not verified. At that point, it becomes MY decision as a seller--whether or not to allow the bidding. Wow...the control in my hands. What a concept. LOL

Here's the update email I received:

Bidville is proud to announce the launch of our SAFE Program. (Seller's Against Fraudulent E-Commerce) This unique service allows you to keep your auctions safe from fraudulent bidders by setting your own security preferences. The SAFE Program is free to all Bidville sellers and we encourage you to set your SAFE preferences today. You can access the program here in your TrackPal:

Good morning Dep! How is that lovely lady? I hope & pray you two are doing well!

And by the way...I approved that buyer, who made her purchase & paid within the hour. Approx $25 sale.

Why not list 5-10 items over yonder & then run 'em through isurf or somethin' and see what happens? Ya just never know. Besides...I love the bracelet & earrings I got from Ms. Lana! :D

I'm registered at Bidville and didn't even remember until I tried to register yesterday and I got the there's already an account registered with that address. I must have done this like two years ago and then never did anything. My name there is KittenlyGirl. So, I guess Bidville will be on my list. This bidding rules update is kind of cool. Never got the e-mail but that's probably because I'm not listed as a seller yet.

I listed a few more items on Squeagle last night and WeBidz and I'll try to start on Bidville tomorrow after I finish my work. Clothesbid is down for extensive maintenance -- don't know if they're coming back :( I had lots of items there that I didn't have listed anywhere else, so I'll work on distributing the wealth. Hey, it's worth a try. I'm not a list-and-run seller. I stay for the long haul, 'cause you never know  I wasn't getting any hits ad eBid and suddenly I am. You never know when hits will turn into sales.

Bidville, here I come!!!

Kudos to Bidville for coming with a set of parameters that allows sellers quite a bit of control over the bids they accept.

Congrats Sylvia, and I'm glad to see Bidville taking steps in the right direction.

And that was very nice of you to say Dimview.
