I get the following errors upon attempting to go through the google checkout for my products:
Code: › docWrite("code")
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
−
<error>
−
<error>
Malformed URL component: expected id: (\d{10})|(\d{15}), but got randar
</error>
</error>
I enabled google checkout in ecrater, entered my merchant key (not my merchant ID), made sure that XML and not HTML was selected, and put in the URL for the return that ecrater specified.
Isn't that all I need to do?
Where might I have gone wrong?
Thanks,
. |

It appears that the system removed some of the code. So here is is again:

NOTE: I reversed the "<" and ">" characters so maybe the system won't truncate them again. |

Is this a new account? In your GCO account you need to do this:
* Please enter https://www.ecrater.com/google/response-handler.php in the "API callback URL" field after you sign in with your Google Checkout account. (Click on Settings -> Integration). Make sure the XML radio button is selected as Callback Method
Within your store this is all that is needed.

Thanks Hotnana :)
um... I did a boner, actually. I put in my merchant key just fine, but for my merchant ID I put in my userid and not my merchant ID LOL!
So I guess that's solved - but. When I did a dummy checkout via google checkout it totaled up the two items for 6.95 to 13.90, but I didn't see it add my shipping.
When I checked out via PayPal (much more steps to go through - not a single step process like on Ebay), it totaled up the two items plus the shipping.
Is there another step in Google Checkout after signing in to it that adds the shipping?
Granted, I didn't go through the entire process - only to the point where GC wanted me as the buyer to sign in, but w/PayPal it seemed to work fine, adding the shipping fees and totalling everything up.
Thanks,

GCO will take the information from your listing and if the shipping is included, that will be included in the total they request from your buyer. You can also log out and make a purchase from yourself to make sure it is working properly. You will lose the tiny transaction fee for canceling but it's worth it to know it indeed is working.
I think you are right about GCO it's very easy for people to use. I would say 90% of all payment I receive are through GCO. |

Ah, it's the first time I've actually used GCO.
Upon opening another browser and paying much closer attention, I saw the following:
<snip>
Subtotal: $6.95
Shipping and Tax calculated on next page
</snip>
It's fine print, but it's there, and no doubt the shipping will be calulated once someone signs into google to complete the checkout process, including tax, for those ordering in my home state of California too.
Well, the only thing that I see that I'm going to have to watch out for on ecrater (so far), is false orders coming down the pipe. It seems the dummy order I began w/PayPal and didn't complete (I went all the way through the process until I got to the PayPal login screen and stopped), generated an email through ecrater and sent it to me as a completed order to ship.
I haven't checked my inventory yet to see if it decremented my inventory or not, but I see that I'm going to have to match the ecrater emails with the paypal emails to make sure that I've been paid before shipping an item.
More on this I suppose after I've actually sold an item! :)
Thanks Hotnana, for all your help in this matter!
Kindest regards,
