I know that a lot of comments have been made, on PSU, about onlineauction.com- lovingly referred to as 'Ola'. I'm sure that all of this negativity may steer some from joining Ola- and that would be a mistake. Ola is a fairly new on-line auction site, and has SO MUCH going for it.
The site is user friendly, insertion fees and selling fees are free- pictures are free- and your listings can stay on until sold. I have enjoyed every aspect of listing my items on Ola. I am a founding member on Ola- Their support group is usually very fast at responding to your questions, and they will even call you back with an answer. Ola has a LOT going for it.
The members and chat members on Ola are some of the greatest people you will ever come across. They are friendly and fun. We have a LOT of good times on the Ola chats. I have purchased a lot of great items on Ola- and the sellers have been great, and pack the items with professional care- I have had one or two 'not so great' deals on Ola... but I think that's to be expected on any on-line selling site. Ola is 99% wonderful to list and sell on.
I'm sorry that we have involved outsiders- who know nothing about Ola.. with our personal conflicts, and I realize this can shed a bad light on Ola- and that was not my intention. Yes- there is a 'clique' that carries a lot of power, on Ola- somehow I have 'crossed' them- and have suffered for it- Hopefully- this will NEVER happen to you, if you join Ola. If you are quiet, and always agreeable, and refrain from leaving negatives- you will probably get along just fine.
It's NOT as horrible as it sounds ! We've only been talking, on this site- about a VERY FEW members...Yes- my business on Ola has been ruined because of these few.... but being a nine year Ebay seller- with 100% postive feedback (over 7000 feedbacks) I won't suffer from my lack of sales on Ola.... and wouldn't want to discourage anyone from signing up with Ola.
I'm sure, that once Ola support realizes what has been going on- they will take the necessary steps to rid the site of these 'cliques'... I am not part of 'any' clique. I operate alone- I do not listen to 'gossip' nor do I spread it. There may be a little 'jealousy' situations going on..... But this is noted to happen on many forums-
I think Ola is one of the on-line auction sites that has a great deal of communication between members... and it IS fun- the SPECIAL SALES and GAMES are just wonderful. I am ill- I am housebound, and have truly enjoyed the Ola Chats- They are a great passtime, and I have made a LOT of friends. Just wanted to say- Don't let anything you've read on PSU sway you from joining Ola. I have been a member since Dec. 2008- and would recommend this site to everyone ! Betty Lou |

Please note,
Online Auction is not a new Auction Site, it has been going on since 1998 or longer.
Online Auction is not free, you have to pay for a membership, I believe it cost $198. |

 Shows ya how much I know about Ola !! lol- The way everyone on Ola talks- it's like they are 'new' and just getting off the ground. When you tell anyone about Ola- they have NO idea WHAT you're talking about- never heard of it !! So, I asssumed it was 2 or 3 years old. ELEVEN YEARS? LOL- and still taking in 'Founding Members' ?? I thought I was getting in on the ground-floor !! LOL-
I would LOVE to know more about this SOE or SEO ?? stuff. Back in the early days- on Ebay- ALL of my listings showed up on Google- and that brought in most of my sales- Now...my items never show on Google- and sales dropped about 75% !! If there's something I could be doing to get my Ola and Ebay items to come up on Google- THAT would be wonderful. But I'm not really good with all this technology.... I sincerely believe that having our items on Google, makes all the difference in the world ! |

Yes- that is true- It cost $8.00 per month to list and sell on Ola- That is just for being a member, I believe- If you become a founding Member- after the initial payment of $196- (which is for a year) thereafter it is $96 per year- which still adds up to $8 per month. So- for $8 per month- you can list ALL you like- with up to 4 free pictures- NO listing fees- NO selling fees.. So, that's a pretty good deal ! You can also join as a buyer only- for free. But for TWO BUCKS A WEEK- You can't beat it ! |

Just about everyone does this now. In case you wished to move. In my opinion, Alsoshop gets your items on Google the fastest. Use the $8 you will save from OLA to create a stand alone website. That clique you mentioned dud retaliate against you, why stay. |

Vendio and eCrater are both FREE.
That means you'll save at least $8 each month. |

I was a founding member on OLA for a year and sold one item. I've been a power seller on ebay since 2005 and have sold thousands. I used the same formula for my sales on OLA. This is not to say this is the fault of OLA, but maybe just not enough buyers for my particular product at this time.
As far as SEO is concerned the algorithms are constantly changing and thus requires a person to constantly work to remain high in organic google searches. (as they say "Never stop SEO").
I personally like a book called "The Unfair Advantage" by Planet Ocean Communications. I'm also a subscriber to their updates in SearchEngineNews. You can check them out if so desired at www.planetocean.com |

| Speaking of TRUTH...I'm soooooo sick of people who don't sell anything at OLA whining about "cliques" There are loads of people who sell at OLA who NEVER go to the chat rooms. Just look at the Whats Sold link on the first page. Then go to the chats.. look back... you'll see a VERY large percentage of sellers NEVER go to the chats. So, those that do enjoy visiting, sharing life stories, learning new things, and playing games are accused of being in a "clique". Well, several people here at PSU must be in a "clique" too, at OLA, as you'll see by the number of chat posts they've made, some under their OLA name or pseudonyms, and the number of games and events they've participated in. Which is just fine...the more the merrier. If anyone wants to visit OLA and join the chats, and check out the site, it's FREE. If you don't, or dislike OLA, go somewhere else. There are lots of alternatives now. |

Yes, lets all go to OnlineAuction.com and check out whats sold there. All the hundreds of sales they have had.
And then yes, come and be my guest in the chats.....OH WAIT, YOU CAN'T, THEY ARE DOWN, FOR CLEANING OUT ALL THE NEGATIVE POSTS ABOUT OLA. |

Ok I will not go to OLA and I will go elsewhere... not that I needed the warning.. Yes there are lots of real sites out there that result in real sales.
It appears OLA is not one of them. They do seem to be good at collecting fees upfront. upfront fees is simply a way of saying - do not expect sales. |

I agree items are being sold on OLA but most of it is to the same people. Those people are the ones in the "clique".
I have been a buyer/seller at OLA for over a year now and I have been watching the sold list along with the popular group feedbacks. They are purchasing items from each other with the occasional new seller or the ones that occasionally buys but most of the sales are from the same people! This is what has many upset. There are NO consistent new buyers coming to the site. Along with all the broken promises OLA made and told to people personally on the phone, again has people upset. Sellers are NOT selling anything if they have to buy from other sellers to get a sale. That is NOT selling... People are not whining they are just frustrated.
None of us are fooled.. there is a clique and there is also a black list. Anyone who went to high school can figure that out! Scenario: one gal in the group doesn't like a new gal in school so she tells the others in group dont eat lunch with her, dont talk to her.. next thing you know that poor gal has four enemies (totally undeserved). Same thing goes on at OLA. Someone mentioned dont post on the chats or participate etc. How can you get a sale if you dont?? Chris Fain is NOT going to remove the clique/popular/outspoken ones because they are founding members and/or free advertisement for his website.
One thing I often wonder about.. is when a newcomer comes to the chats and wants to "strike up the band" so to speak..to get OLA on the map... in about one month or two they are silenced! I'm like where did they go?? One gal we all knew was a big cheerleader and one day she just stopped talking.... no one knew where she went or what happened. Her silence was so deafening! Id like to know what happened to these people and what made them quit the chats....
Anyhow I have said more than I intended.. I will be leaving OLA next month because simply I have had enough and so have many others... |

Thanks for your honesty MalibuGirl. The following is from the OLA chat room from a NEW Member that was confronted by the Metzymom & Royal Treasures to sell shipping supplies to push out the former shipping supplier (she left OLA after this scenerio).
Posted: 27 Aug 2009 07:37 pm Post subject: I didn't receive a copy but am not surprised...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As a less than two month old seller I did not know that there are seasoned sellers who will target a newbie for a variety of reasons. I have not spoken out until now because the two "illusions of power" sellers that Betty Lou mentioned advised me to be silent when one seller, they don't like became vengeful towards me, but I will say at last, that seller will tell you she is a vengeful person and she comes at you head on as a wolf not as a wolf dressed in sheep's clothing.
It took me a while to figure out that the two illusions who publicly and privately supported me repeatedly were actually using a new online seller, who doesn't know the ropes yet, to try and push out sellers they don't like, just about the time I figured out what they were doing is when they wanted me to start selling shipping supplies to deliberately try and push out a seller in this thread that they also want gone form OLA, and I don't even know that seller yet, the seller that started this thread was probably next on the list because they made it plain they don't like her either. When I figured all this out and confronted these two, they removed their support and start back peddling on their true agenda so fast it should be in the Guinness World Book Of Records. So now I'm on their "blacklist" as well. I trusted them is the worst part, the best part is they have made me stronger and have taught me the same valuable lesson about friends versus business that another seller mentioned in this thread.
Last night was the first time I haven't played in the Wed. Wave so I'm not surprised I didn't receive a copy of the new rules, and like the three other sellers in this thread standing up for themselves I too will not be intimidated or pushed out. The rule about "sabotaging another player/seller is so thick with irony and hypocrisy it is almost tangible.
And Betty Lou sent me this most beautiful gift in my order, a Red Enameled Music/Jewelry box with a pearl in the center and inside was a set of gold vintage jewelry that also had pearls on it.
Some people teach us what to do and some people teach us what not to do and both are valuable lessons.
I, too noticed that I would sign up very early for wave and yet end up way down on the list. Sad. |

Trotting this out in a different thread, posted by a different person, does not make it any less spam.
It is not what happened. I posted to this story in the other thread and I'll say it again... you've already said you know how to manipulate both emails and screenshots... you said it in the other thread here... AND the next time you feel the need to trot this out, why not post what you and she did to the new seller last week? A seller you didn't know... a seller I don't know... and the two of you tag teamed him, along with 2 others, like badgers... and why? because the new seller brought some competition to one of your friends... so, let's see the copy and paste from that hornet's nest!!! It might be pretty surprising to those who are taking your side here... and it certainly would put a new spin on who to believe is at fault for the drama. |

Metzymom, Do you have any copies of them tag teaming this new seller?
Yes. I have unaltered copy and pastes as well as unaltered screenshots. When another OLA Member was trashed yesterday and this morning, apparently giving the impression that everyone in some sort of clique was sharing emails back and forth, THAT is what I believe she was also referring to. Not only are there copies of THAT thread, but there are also copies of many, many others where these two have literally gone berzerk on, not just others, but each other. |
