She won't have a chance.
The Dems on the campaign will find this site and her shot will be ruined. |

You don't think the other Republicans would be interested, just the Dems?
Unfortunately this site by itself doesn't have much influence in the larger scheme of things. However, the shared opinions of perhaps millions of sellers would probably settle the matter. It's the main thing that Whitman brings to the table (implicit backing of millions of eBay sellers and ex-sellers), and is one thing that could really sink her. |

I don't think this site would change anything, but it sure as hell would bring to light what the sellers do think about her which would lead to further questions and inquiries from those interested. |

|

Meg Whitman, former CEO of eBay, is expected to announce today that she will run for Governor of California. Deborah Perry Piscione, CEO of BettyConfidential.com, talked with Meg this weekend about her intentions: “She realizes her greatest strength is her knowledge of the economy and her strong business background.”
Meg recently resigned from the boards of eBay, Dreamworks and Proctor & Gamble, a move which was widely assumed to indicate she would be running for the governorship in 2010. She became increasingly involved in Republican politics during the last presidential race, initially as a supporter of Mitt Romney, and then as national co-chair of John McCain’s campaign: McCain had mentioned her as a possible Secretary of the Treasury.

Thank you for your post, oops I mean warning. I have already put a post on a San Diego GOP message board about how this would be a disaster for the GOP. If she runs opposed for the primary, we should offer to do testimonials of the negative impacts of her business methods, for her opponents commercials.
I would like to distribute links to articles about her poor impact on ebay and send the to all the CA GOP message boards. If you know of any especially damming please post them here. The CA GOP does not need another Nixon.

Excuse me if this particular news article has been posted. My time has been limited and participation at PSU limited, so I may have missed an earlier posting.
She ran EBay, can she run California?
Meg Whitman says she would make trade-offs as governor to put the state's financial house in order. She hopes to open voters' minds to a former corporate CEO after a run of movie stars and professional politicians.

I may be projecting a bit here, but I wonder if a certain desperation among the electorate won't be Meg Whitman’s biggest advantage in the forthcoming race for governor of California.
We've tried professional politicians (Pete Wilson, Gray Davis). We've tried a Hollywood action star and a melodrama second banana (Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronald Reagan). We've tried a colorless nobody (George Deukmejian) and a publicity magnet (Jerry Brown). And after all that, here we are, bankrupt and uncertain, saddled with another state budget that everyone knows is really a fraud, next year's problem masquerading as this year's solution.
Is it time to hand the statehouse over to a corporate CEO?
Whitman, who retired last March after 10 years running EBay, believes her experience makes her "uniquely qualified to be the chief executive officer of California in these economic times," as she told me last week, shortly after announcing her candidacy for the GOP nomination for governor.
"I managed and led very large and complex organizations," she said. (Before EBay, she held executive positions at Hasbro, FTD and the investment consultancy Bain & Co.) "I balanced the budget throughout my entire career. I have prioritized projects and made trade-offs. This is something that the state is going to have to learn how to do."
Whitman certainly has an impressive record. She pulled off perhaps the hardest feat of entrepreneurship -- building a new business model almost from scratch. When she joined EBay in early 1998, it was an online service for hobbyists, with fewer than 50 employees, 300,000 users and $4 million in revenue. When she retired it employed 15,000, brought in $8 billion a year, and with 246 million regular users reigned as the dominant auction marketplace on the Web.

| Someone should start a website www.dontvoteforMegWhitman.com so we could all slam her - I know I would. Maybe it would wake up the sheeple and draw attention to her shortcomings and why she should would NOT be a good governor for California. .... |

Can Meg Whitman save California?
In a bad economy, this sorry state has the worst credit rating and the highest taxes. The former eBay chief wants to run it like a business. Is that a good thing?
(Fortune Magazine) -- It's been barely a month since Meg Whitman declared that she was running for governor of California, and the skewers are already out. The state's press has cast her as a political novice. Late-night comics are loving this notion of eBay's former CEO in charge of America's largest state. "Well, that makes sense," said Jay Leno. "I mean, the state's broke. If we're going to start selling stuff, who better to be governor than the head of eBay?"
Many businesspeople, as well as most of her friends, think she's crazy to want to be governor at a time of crisis. Yahoo (YHOO, Fortune 500) CEO Carol Bartz says that when Whitman recently came to her office seeking support, "I asked her, 'Why in the world would you want to do this?' I probably asked her that question 10 different ways."
Flash back to day one of Meg Whitman 2.0. We are sitting in her tidy living room in Atherton, Calif., on a rain-soaked morning in late February, at 24 hours and counting before she is due to give the first campaign speech of her life. Whitman, who left eBay (EBAY, Fortune 500) a year ago after a decade in the job, seems unfazed by the trouble all around her.
Besides waking up this morning to find a giant oak tree toppled in her front yard (it missed her white picket fence by inches), there's the daunting reality of California. "We have the fourth-highest unemployment rate in the country. We're 48th of 50 states in K-12 education," Whitman says, spewing stats and sound bites as if she's rehearsing for her first political debate. "Other states are stealing California's jobs," she says. "California is failing. I refuse to sit by and watch it happen."

Whitman, .... seems unfazed by the trouble all around her.
And that is the understatement of the year and a concise definition of Meggie for at least the last 5 years. She never recognized the trouble SHE generated with all her stupid policy changes at eB, so why would she start now.
Any one that thinks she can SOLVE anything is truly in La-La land.

I never realized how ugly she was until I google'd her just now.
Anyways, I don't think she has a shot in hell.
