| As for moving bigger items, as well as, bigger ticket items. It is great. People will pay more for things they can touch and see beforehand. Over 300 sales since May and a pretty smooth ride. :wink: |

eBay owned 25% of CL and that entitled them to a vote on their board or something, CL people played some games to issue enough more stock to drop that to 24% so eBay has no say in anything, that's what the lawsuit is about.
I still haven't sold anything on CL, one guy wanted parts and it wasn't worth my time to go to where the parts were and take things off stuff I'd put together to sell as a package. One guy tried to lowball me on something else, but a guy found the eBay listing and offered more, so I went with him. |

| Just sold a commercial pigmented printer on CL recently with a pickup only offer. Will definatley be listing other items that I would not attempt to ship. It's great that there are no costs involved. :D |

| I have used craigslist alot in the past. You just have to be very careful and be your own police. There is no fraud protection and paypal won't cover you near as easy as they would if you were buying or selliing through ebay. With that said, there is alot of money to be made by both buying and selling on craigslist. Craigslist was the site that I was using when I quit my job a few years back. It is a very clean site, no ads, etc. But alot of fraud. You just have to weed through it. On the lighter side, it is totally free and doesn't cost a dime. Good luck in 09! |

I have a friend that is in the home remodeling business and when he's hired to replace kitchen cabinets, bathroom fixtures (and other things), my friend asks the home owner if he can have the the cabinets/fixtures being replaced (when they are in decent condition) and then he turns around and sells them on CL.
There are a lot of people out there buying up foreclosed homes for rental income and, often times, need to gut a house and remodel it. These guys are always on CL looking for a bargain on fixturing. A couple of weeks ago my friend was able to sell kitchen and bathroom cabinets and a dishwasher on CL for 1100 bucks. |

Craigslist is my bread & Butter. I sell motors, vehicles and parts on craigs. Bought a nice Toyota RAV4 on craigs too. Craigs is like the newspaper used to be except I don't have to pay 40 dollars a listing like I did in the paper.
You are dealing with strangers and some are crooks but I have had to contend with that all my life. No problem. |

I know quite a few people who have had success on CL. They sold their items to me.
Granted, many of them accepted a price lower than what they may have wanted, but seeing as how I bought everything they had to offer, they felt they were getting a good deal.
And I turn around and sell the items elsewhere. |

| For big and bulky items that are too costly to ship, it simply can not be beat. I make tons of the green stuff off of CL. It is actually my bread & butter as well. :D |

@iemploy,
The thing about Craigslist is many of the smaller towns around a city use the site. I list on the Nashville CL, but am 88 miles from Music City. Most of my sales are actually to people in the surrounding counties near me. They find the stuff on CL, but they are really only 10 or 20 miles away. I seldom actually sell to people in Nashville. That is one of the Beauty's of the the CL site. |

| I used to have good luck with Craigslist, but it's been a much different story since the economy around here got so bad. I've been trying to unload a lot of stuff before moving, and I think I've only had one successful sale out of all of the items that I've tried to sell lately on CL. My son's race car bed sold. I donated my copier to the Jacob's Heart childrens cancer support place, so we can call that successful. Ended up giving my kitchen chairs to the neighbor across the street. In trying to sell my entertainment center, the only responses I've received are more than half a dozen emails from the same scammer pretending to be different people. :shock: |
