I've read some threads about auction scripts but I think those are too good for my project. What I want is only a simple and easy auction to run on my website, it will not be for other sellers to offer items on my site. I'm thinking about "Daily Auction" which I will offer only one item a day, end in a day.

Is there any auction script fit my project? Or should I find a freelance programmer?

And what about just offer my item on someone else general auction site and get the small window of the item showed on my site.

Hope my question make sense.

That is a really well done site.

Considering your price points though, I wouldn't jump straight onto the auction bandwagon right yet...

You might want to explore the concept of "flash" sales through twitter/facebook though to increase your turnover.

The sheer time you are going to spend on auction style correspondence with those price points is going to burn you right out.

Sign up for a multi post social networking app, and use flash sales is my suggestion.

There would be no cost and your click/publish rate is much faster and stays within your targeted and loyal market.

Just something to think about.

Your site is so clean and easy, offering too many choices on it is going to clutter it and info overload your visitors.

Net life has made it so easy for us to tweak things to high heaven, and it's become a challenge to stay simple.

Your look right now is clean, friendly, easy to navigate, consider also supplementing flash sales through a blog platform with loyal readers as a secondary method.

You can post your social network feeds on the blog, tie in your website there also.

Keep that website clean, it looks awesome.

To attract readership in the beginning phases of a blog, use marketing like giveaways to customers who leave a comment in the blog.

Do it religiously for the first sixty days, the updating, posting, stories and personality.

It'll pay off.

Good luck.

ehustle, thank you for your comment and suggestion. I'm interested in "flash sales" you mentioned, but I can't visualize how it can be done, don't know much about social network marketing. Could you give me some more clues on this matter?

To answer your original question.

NO

You can't just add auctions to your fixed priced site.

Not unless you have a programmer who no longer has any need for sleep.

You can but it would depend what script they were using, as I recall it was available for zencart.

But that is not saying I would use it, as said above, it would be more trouble than it was worth.

I like the original idea quite a bit. I think how great would it be to get repeat customers visiting my site more frequently to see about a couple daily auction items at great values. I feel sure it would produce more sales as they work through the sites inventory.

One might be able to create an auction or two using some creative thinking - maybe a blind auction by email if you believe your users will trust you.

If one searches Google for 'free auction script' one might find something suitable. Just be careful before you actually download something you are interested in, do further searching for the specific program or file name to see if there are any reports of malware involved. There are many software writers who enjoy creating and sharing free apps they have developed, though the free auction script I thought of suggesting has recently changed - ppauction or something very close to that is what it was called - so I closed that search and didn't reply here that day. However, concentrated searching and research may net something. Good luck.

I'm interested in "flash sales" recommended by ehustle, but I still considering daily auction as my first post mentioned. I've read somewhere that Bidware script has bugs and do not work properly. Someone talks about PHPauction, and the unfree PHP Pro Bid.

PHPauction maybe the solution for me, I just like to see if there is anybody used it, and how can I find some feedback to the program.

Thanks for all replies.

I think Explorz.com has a widget that will show items you have listed at various sites, so that might work for you. I'm not sure if I'm right about this, but I think that's what some sellers said - they were using it on blogs or facebook or the like.

What script did you use to make your site?

You could ask phpauction and PHPProBid I think they are both members so you could try a PM and see what they say.

If you google both there are a lot of reviews and checkout the forums of each of them, as you want to take that into account for when you need help

My site is PHP script, written by a programmer who works with my friend, but they haven't done anything about auction before. I'm trying to get some more information about auction scripts to make sure I can discuss with them effectively.

They could look at something like this

http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=135

which may give them an idea of how to go about it.
