Checkout by Amazon announced an alternative payment method for retailers to offer customers. Currently, customers can select Checkout by Amazon on a retailer's shopping cart page, login and use either 1-click or standard checkout without leaving the site.
With the new alternative payment method, once customers are done shopping, they can proceed from the shopping cart to the retailer's payments page and then select Amazon Payments as a payment option. In this option, customers briefly leave the retailer's site to go to a co-branded Amazon Payments page where they select their payment method from those saved in their Amazon.com accounts.

"Amazon Payments Launches Shortcut for Express Checkout Around the Web"
Amazon Payments has launched Amazon PayPhrase, an easy-to-remember shortcut for paying on Amazon.com and all websites accepting Checkout by Amazon. With Amazon PayPhrase, online shoppers choose their own customized phrase, such as "Knick Knack," and set up their preferred payment and shipping methods for that phrase. They can then enter that phrase along with a PIN number to quickly preview their order and complete their purchase.
PayPhrase allows Amazon.com customers to quickly checkout across the web, but without having to share sensitive payment information with multiple websites. Entering the PayPhrase brings up a secure popup window, so shoppers are not taken away from the merchant's website. If the customer is satisfied with their order, they enter their PIN to complete the order. Consumers can set up parental controls so they can set up a PayPhrase for teens.
There can only be one unique PayPhrase, so Amazon.com shoppers may be scrambling on Thursday to stake out their claim to such phrases as "Joe Work" or "Jake Allowance." The information associated with a user's PayPhrase (such as the user's mailing address) may not be changed simply by knowing the phrase and PIN. Customers receive an email notification of orders, and items are shipped to the address they've indicated when setting up their PayPhrase.

I hate checkout by Amazon.
They will always side with a scammer buyer and A-Z protection is allowed even for off Amazon sites where they just take money form seller and give it to buyer.
They need Signature confirmation as proof of delivery (which is expensive) for any orders or you will loose the claim.
It is not practical to get SC for a $10 item.
But paypal & google checkout need only DC as proof of delivery for orders under $250.
Any scammer can file item not as described and Amazon will refund them without any investigation. |
