I charged an item through Google checkout a couple of days ago, that a customer bought on my Ecrater store. In the past, that has always put it on automatic hold. However, this morning I Just sold the same item...and it's still available.
Does this have something to do with enabling inventory control? It's already enabled - so I'm not sure what else I have to do to be sure this doesn't happen again. I'm sorry to disappoint my customer.
Oddly, I've had this item listed for a year -I was about to remove it - and it sells twice within the same week! (?)
I tried asking on the Ecrater forums, but I'm having trouble getting in there for some reason. |

| I don't know the answer to your question, but I can tell you that I bought an item from eCrater about 2 weeks ago, paying with Google Checkout, and the (unique) item was not removed from the seller's inventory - a fact which I alerted him to. |

I've sold several items on ecrater and if it's a "one of a kind" I always remove the item from the inventory manually & immediately, just in case something like this happens to me.
This same inventory control happens an all of the alternatives I list items on, especially if they're "one of a kind". If the buyer ends up as a NPB, you can always relist the item or offer it to the other buyer. :D
Contact your buyers and let them know what happened. You should be able to work this out with too much of a headache. |

I've had the same problem happen three times and I've had inventory control on since it became available.
When it happened the thrid time I finally asked (I don't go to the community boards very often) but I did get an answer.
Even with inventory control enabled it takes up to 15 minutes to put your item on hold and if the customer isn't sure their order went through they will purchase it again and it will go through. This is what happened to me the last time anyway.
Or they check and see that it is still listed and maybe they want two pieces. It can get a little frustrating but now that I know what is happening I just email my customer and explain what happened. So far everyone has be great about it. |

Please verify your google checkout set up is correct and includes the correct API link back to ecrater.com

| Thanks! And thanks BigT - :) I will check and see, however for me, this is the first time this has happened with Google Checkout and my sales have been pretty good lately. All of them have "grayed" out once I actually charge the item. Maybe it was a communication glitch between the two sites. |
