Good morning all.....I would post on eCrater.com, but can't remember my password for the forums *sigh* - and my desktop decided to misbehave recently.

My google feed on eCrater.com suggests 'in process' - and has been since 11/20.

I can still find my items on Google and Google Products - should I be worried?

Thanks in advance to all!!!

Hey Erin...it's another Google glitch! Lots of other folks are seeing the same thing, so am I.
On my website, the Sunday morning feed didn't finish processing until last night! I think it skipped right over Monday morning, but the one this morning worked just fine.

So to answer your question...No don't worry!

I was also wondering what was going on but since I'm still getting sales and questions I'll just wait and see, no worry.

Hi Erin,

Mine is showing the same thing and there is a discussion in the Ecrater forums about this issue. Apparently a number of sellers are seeing the same thing so you are not alone. Although the common consensus seems to be that it is a Google problem I am not completly convinced yet. I am hoping the problem is not related to the new Google/Ecrater policies against shipping information in the listing description. My listings state free shipping and I checked on one of yours and noticed shipping information. So I am wondering. If it doesn't clear up in a few days or we get more information from a reliable source I think I will start revising my listings. :x

This was a Google issue for many sellers, my guess it the dashboard does not update until the next feed is sent. Until then you will have the error message.
Also eCrater isn't rejecting items that state free shipping, that is Google and their restrictions.

You sign into the forum with your same username and password of the store.

There have been many conversations in the Ecrater forum and it has been decided it is a Google issue that is apparently being worked on. At least that is the gist of it.

Hey all - thanks for the confirmation. I also (thanks for the tip) am now signed into the forums over at eCrater.com....I did not remember (too darn old, I guess) that the password was the same for the site and the community!

I've got the p/w saved for the site - so still had to look it up!!

I did try to search there (the forum) and did not see the discussion. I'll go read about it though!

Happy Sales to all - and a great and happy Turkey Day!!

Well, I think most people would like their items to go through Google feeds but you should check the Ecrater policy because it is now against Ecrater rules to include "boiler plate" in listings.

I see tonight that my feed's status has updated and I also got an email response from Ecrater customer service that said that the feeds had been going through but the addministrative tool was not updating.

No boilerplates is another Google restriction, which is part of including free shipping, promotional text, excessive caps and other things.

Sellers think these are eCraters new rules but they aren't, these are the restrictions being enforced by Google. I found the page in Google Base the other day that listed all the do nots, but can't find it right now and Base help is down at the moment. Perhaps someone else has this bookmarked and could share.

Sellers think these are eCraters new rules but they aren't, these are the restrictions being enforced by Google.

Sellers think these are Ecrater rules because they are. Try reading their terms.

Relavent text from the above link:

3.3 Content requirements

- Do not include promotional or boilerplate text in your product titles and descriptions. All text should directly describe the product. Texts related to shipping or store policies must not be included.

So these are Google rules and Ecrater rules. I am not sure why people want to make a distinction though anyway? Why would you not want your listings to be fed into Google? But please please stop with the these are not Ecrater rules!!

I can stop saying this at any time! :butt:

eCrater is simply following Googles restrictions. Do your titles in all caps, add the boilerplates and please do put free shipping in your titles and see how long it takes for your items to be rejected. eCrater is placing these restrictions so your items Are accepted in each feed for your store, they didn't make the rules, Google did. Sellers are blaming eCrater for items being rejected when all they are doing is submitting your items, Google is rejecting them.

If you are going to sell online, You need to keep up with what is going on. You are correct in saying these are eCraters rules, but who do you think is deciding what the rules should be? It doesn't matter what site you list on, if your items are going to be accepted by Google, the same rules will be in place. The same rules hold true on my website as well.

Thanks for the adult response. Apparently I keep up with what is going on better than you do. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you failed to read and comprehend what I wrote because you apparently have not read and comprehended the eCrater terms of use either. 8)
