Sellers think these are eCraters new rules but they aren't, these are the restrictions being enforced by Google.

Sellers think these are Ecrater rules because they are. Try reading their terms.
http://www.ecrater.com/terms.php

Relavent text from the above link:

3.3 Content requirements

- Do not include promotional or boilerplate text in your product titles and descriptions. All text should directly describe the product. Texts related to shipping or store policies must not be included.

So these are Google rules and Ecrater rules. I am not sure why people want to make a distinction though anyway? Why would you not want your listings to be fed into Google? But please please stop with the these are not Ecrater rules!!

I can stop saying this at any time! :butt:

eCrater is simply following Googles restrictions. Do your titles in all caps, add the boilerplates and please do put free shipping in your titles and see how long it takes for your items to be rejected. eCrater is placing these restrictions so your items Are accepted in each feed for your store, they didn't make the rules, Google did. Sellers are blaming eCrater for items being rejected when all they are doing is submitting your items, Google is rejecting them.

If you are going to sell online, You need to keep up with what is going on. You are correct in saying these are eCraters rules, but who do you think is deciding what the rules should be? It doesn't matter what site you list on, if your items are going to be accepted by Google, the same rules will be in place. The same rules hold true on my website as well.

Thanks for the adult response. Apparently I keep up with what is going on better than you do. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you failed to read and comprehend what I wrote because you apparently have not read and comprehended the eCrater terms of use either. 8)

Thanks for the clarification on this issue!
I certainly wasn't trying to pick a fight or be non-adult like with you, forgive me if I came across that way. Many sellers want to imply that eCrater is changing all the rules and rejecting their items. When in fact it's Google who has changed the rules and will probably continue to do so, eCrater has modified their TOS in order for sellers items to be accepted.

fishingpuddycat,

Could it perhaps be that eCrater changed their rules because GOOGLE changed theirs? And not simply because they felt like it?

Or would that be too adult for you?

Google.................

Content policies

Do not include promotional or boilerplate text in your product data feed. All text should directly describe the product you are submitting. Text relating to shipping or store policies should not be included.
Do not submit image links to logo images or other generic images such as "image not available" images. If you do not have a specific image for your item, please leave the attribute blank. Please check the new Google Merchant Center's Policies and make sure your products are compliant. If needed please do appropriate adjustments on your items. This will ensure that your items will continue to appear in Google Product Search.
Products and landing pages must list text in a supported language.

And this is what is says under "news" when you sign into eCrater....

Please check the new Google Merchant Center's Policies and make sure your products are compliant. If needed please do appropriate adjustments on your items. This will ensure that your items will continue to appear in Google Product Search.

This is not being dictated by eCrater.

Hey all - mine did finish the process - so....it's all good!

I have a question - for anyone smarter than I (everyone)....

Here's the output - my question ---- how do I figure out which items have the errors listed below? Is there any easy way or do I have to search 4 each one....

Items processed: 1156
Items inserted: 1151
Errors:
# of errors Problem
1 Missing required attribute: description
3 Prohibited word in attribute: description
1 Prohibited word in attribute: title

TIA!

You will have to search for the items...bummer huh!
The missing description, no idea there, the others probably have Free in the title or in the upper part of your description. I found several of my rejected items by simply searching for free in my dashboard.

There is no easy way to go about finding them that I know of. With 1156 items and you have 1151 inserted, that's not too bad.

When we were able to add items to Google Base, I had an item that Goggle rejected because it had the word "Adult" in the title, and description. It was a reading program for ages 9 - adult. They sent me a message, and once I contacted Google they allowed me to post it.

Just a thought, but maybe they are still looking at certian key word, and we just have to guess at what they might be.

You can go to Google Shopping, put in your store name, and the site name to view your items. You can also add the the item description.

I just did, Ilove2shop4u ecrater Abeka, and it brought up all my Abeka homeschool books I have listed on eCrater.

It's a pain if you have a lot items, but at least you can narrow it down by the site if your using the same name at more than one site.

I thank all for the input - I'll have to 'see' if I can ever find the time to find a few....this will be like a needle in a haystack search....
