In a nutshell: your mozilla can freeze up causing you to think your system has a virus if the history is clogged with long urls.
The article at CNET news.com has a longer explanation and a work-around. |

| But you can still toggle your wysiwyg even if you have a frozen mozilla, so don't panic. |

| I have been having issues with Firefox lately. For instance, the tabbed browsing feature refuses to function as it should. Clicking on a tab does not open up that tab; the window stays as it was. Sounds confusing, but that's what tends to happen. Any ideas as to what may be causing this? |

What version of firefox do you have?
Do you still have the problem if you run firefox in safe mode?
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode |

| I managed to fix the error, finally. I changed my FF theme from "blueshift" to "noia" and I haven't had any tab-freezes since then. I'm now using FF with a handful of extensions and I haven't had any additional problems to date. |
