This from OLA member LFWoodWorking. It was found on the OLA forum under 'OLA Cafe'. Very interesting read about the BOOMING OLA business model.
Dont know if you can view the link without having to log into OLA
Another happy camper?
Just in case heres a cut & paste. Please note we didnt edit or correct anything, this is the original post.
We were so supprised to our responce in the what's for sale forum, we made a post that we were looking for some stocking stuffers, we had 3 reponses, (and thankyou guys we are considering yours all three) but 3 responses wow that just shocks me , it made me wonder, you all know how I feel about OLA and there people, but I must say this was a supprise to me, you know I didn't even put a price limit on these items I was looking for
I hope that this is just the econemy and not something else, I know we have people out there buying, even though we aren't selling anything we do watch what's sold, I am a little worried about the "sales" we have and how often we have them, I know my self I can know longer offer discounted sales, our prices are as low as I can go, we have had a few good sales, but the most of them are when we have had sales and we dropped the price below our cost hoping to get more in to look at the rest, but that hasn't worked for me, we have figured our sales up and over the last 18 month's we have sold 2.78 peices per month most of them have been discounted in sales below our cost's, yes I know I don't have a big inventory, and yes it was our choice to take a chance at selling them that cheap, we were just hoping this would be good in getting us known out in the onlne world, I hope no one takes me wrong, we are not putting anything down here because I know it is working for so many people out there, and maybe we need to find some one with a bigger inventory that would like to sell them for us, we are really trying to find out were we are going wrong, we have sold our items on 4 different sites and we have what I would call a very good feed back 100% possitive on all of them, we only are offering our items on 2 sites and the other is the hand crafted site you know who, I am so concirned about this only because, we are trying to live on S.S. and the cost of our art work is taking to much of a dip into our living exspenses.
Would love to get your thoughts, and please I hope no one takes me wrong this in my mind is the place to be, this is just my problem and I'm hoping to get some help from the great people out there, and want also for those that see that we haven't been offering our items on sales and this is why, we just can't offer them for any less any more becasue of our cost's on this end
Have a Happy and Merry Christmas to all and to all the Holidays coming up.
I will stop now before I write a book
Rick

| Uncle Mike, did you mislabel this person? Sure reads like Glenda. Am I alone in my perception? I actually thought it was Glenda posting again until I reread and saw the name Rick. Besides reading exactly like Glenda, it appears Rick needs another free year from his site's host. Things sure are rough, aren't they? I hope Rick isn't Glenda. It would shoot that business advisor rhetoric out of the sky, huh? A lot of other stuff too. |

| old fogey, It would be impossible for LF Woodworking to be Glenda. They are very nice people and have never attacked anyone in all the time they've been on OLA. |

I don't think this poster is TGW.
What it is though, is a very sad commentary about a site that claims to be the next big thing/Bay competitor.
It sure proves the point in many of the other OLA threads. |

| Looks like some steer clear of posts with the sad truth in them (with solid proof from the active members of the site). lol |

Thanks for correcting me. I apologize to LF for the incorrect assumption. The writing style currently being used in an attempt to decieve the regular PSU posters seemed so similar to me.
I knew it was someone from OLA and a game was being played upon us. I just never imagined the OLA site would allow one of their employees to attempt such a sham. Other than the one obvious person, I mean. Can't say why I didn't suspect it. If a person would commit such a ruse on everyone here, guess they might find a writing style to mimic as well.
Again, I sincerely apologize to LF. |

Thank you NatureLover
I didn't say that to do you any favors. I had to clear LFWoodworking's good name.
You still haven't answered my question, how long have you been on OLA? |

Just so I understand. TGW = RagMop = Rowan
If thats true just goes to show you how lame OLA is, they dont even have the nads to be honest about themselves when they come here to post.
Wonder what there ashamed of. Tell us Rowan what are you ashamed about. Your boss being a thief, your site a joke. |
