The owner finally submitted the stores a few weeks ago...and yes I believe they will submit anything listed on the site which could end up affecting everyone on the site. Blujay has the reputation of porn and illegal items, not a pretty picture that's for sure. Daily people come into the forums reporting they have been ripped off by sellers there. It's a nice site but has been unattended for probably a year or so. I think the owner is finally stepping up to the plate and trying to clean the site up which will certainly be beneficial for the honest sellers.
eCrater is a well maintained site that's for certain. The owners do a great job getting your items into Google, but promotion is up to you.
Blujay? Reputation for porn and illegal items? Wow, would of never guessed. When I was there years ago, listing a Glamour Magazine with the word sex on the cover was a sin.
I'm guessing that when you were there, Adam actually made the occasional appearance as well.
He hasn't been actively involved with the site for over a year. Porn is becoming the norm around there these days.
Well, wish me luck. I just went back to Blujay and opened up a store. For a while now, I was looking for a place to park all of my stuff in one place and still keep my E stores in place. I was going to do it on BiSI, but they charge you $19.95 a month and that is just to steep for me.
I really hope Blujay gets there act together, it really is a great site.
Come join the crowd Sadie!
I experienced good sales at both ecrater and bluejay before the holidays :D Better than all of the other alternatives combined! It's obviously slowed since the holidays ended but I'm currently closing other online venues and concentrating my efforts on my own web site, BJ and EC only. |

Thanks, but as for me I have worked to hard on all of my stores to just close them down. I plan to keep them all, as long as I can. |

Oh I understand the hard work part Sadie. I was just stating the online alternatives that are NOT selling MY merchandise on a regular basis, I was shutting down.....IE why waste MY time on venues who are not promoting and moving MY products??????? :)
What works for some, might not work for others. |

Why not setup a hosting account with GoDaddy, have them auto-install Oscommerce on a $4.99/month account, and control your own exposure? You can upload your own feeds instead of Blujay forgetting it for months, manage your own back end, take whatever payments you want, and probably get better SEO from a domain that's never been banned by Google.
Blujay is free but notorious for problems. |

For another free option, you might consider Vendio. I've been considering closing my website and utilizing their free site. I know they upload your items to GB daily and of course it's loaded with some pretty cool options. I signed up for a freebie store and have been toying with it a bit to see how easy it is to use and how reliable the service is...I like it!
My concern is what kind of exposure you will get through their service. They've been around about 10 years now so I'm sure they've ironed out growing pains. But I never really hear anyone talk about how well the site works for them. Would love to get some input from someone else using just the store end of Vendio rather than how well it works for selling on ebay and Amazon. |

Blujay doesn't promote anything. Half the time, they don't even submit items to Google.
I spent a year there. With 1400 items, I managed to sell 42, and that was with my marketing my store on a daily basis.
Nana,
The free store option at Vendio, is relatively new...within the past year I believe. It may take awhile before we hear of success stories there. |

Vendio free store set up seems to be very complicated.Lot of html & flash.
On other hand Ecrater is neat and simple.
I saw some sellers using paypal.Do anyone know if you can use google checkout or Amazon checkout with them ? |

jjj525 - are you asking about GCO and Amazon with eCrater? I can say yes about GCO - not sure about amazon.

Yes you can accept Amazon Payments and GCO with Vendio. They also offer a credit card processor, can't remember the company.
You can also direct questions to Vendio-Helen through PSU...she's quite helpful. |

HTML isn't the boogeyman that some people think it is.
Blujay allows its use as well, but that doesn't mean that you have to use it.
In fact, one of the complaints against eCrater is that they don't allow its use, so listings tend to look flat. |

I recently brought a couple of ink cartridges from a buyer on the bay. I was in need of them right away, so I figured it might take a week to receive. What I did not realize until later after revisiting the sight was that I had purchased from a drop shipper and that they were being shipped from Hong Kong. It took 38 days for me to receive those cartridges. I was pee off at myself for realizing when the shipping time in the listing say time varies it could mean 38 days shipping time. the next time I will buy from a buyer in the states. Now I know what the saying " take a slow boat from China" means
Note; The product that I received was of excellent quality and I got a fabulous price with free shipping |

And what does this have to do with eCrater? |
