Your other thread no longer exists.
As for your problem with emails, I'd send a PM to psunite and ask him. You might also ask what you have to do to be able to post in that other area. |

timming2001 - I think you were asking about signing into your web site e-mail server, and getting a security error? WPhamilton gave you the correct advise to OK the server as trusted and follow through with the certificate until you get there. I use firefox as a browser, I am not sure what happens when you use IE.
When you signed up for PSU to host your store, The administrators sent you some info like passwords and usernames for different areas, You need to print this and save it as it will be very handy to have throughout setting up your store.
After you can enter your e-mail, I would work on your home page choosing a template then setting up logo's and putting policies and stuff like that in place.
Again once you get the user name and password page you will be able to access lots of support from PSU and joomla forums. This will help you out a lot. Most all of the start up questions you will have are addresses many times in these sections. A real time saver.
You can get to these forums by clicking support on left side of PSU home page.
Good Luck a be patient. |

timming2001,
TGD will be able to give you better advice than I could, from this point on.
I'll keep my eye on the thread though, just in case. |

| timming2001, what service are you using for internet connection? Verizon and any other service who buys wholesale from Verizon recently made changes that blocks residential use from accessing various servers. |

As someone who has been trading online for over ten years here's my thoughts, these might save you from making the same mistakes I made, and by the way the same mistakes I see being made still by newbies.
First are you sure you are looking at this the right way. I mean you are looking at cart deciding what is best in terms of value. I suggest what you should do is note down what you want from a cart;
Do you want online and offline payment ? do you just need paypal or do you want a more professional look.
Are you bothered about how it looks above how it performs ie. Magneto v oscommerce ?
Make a list of what you want to do and then when have that look for products that fill your needs. When you have that list look at their support that product delivers and how easy it is to make changes, how difficult it is to add your products. Does it link direct to feeds like google base and shopping.com ?
Look a little closer, what does the product page look like, how does it handle images, postage options, languages etc.
Once you have decided on your cart decide on you host. Always buy hosting as close to your main customer base. For example don't buy cheap hosting in India if you sell to people in the USA.
Buy the smallest hosting package you need but one that you can expand if needed.
Feel free to contact me for further ideas but it's all about what you want. One last thing, although I suggest getting the best hosting and product don't be tempted to spend a large amount on designs and mods before your site is earning. Remember your target is to get into profit as soon as possible and so if you spend your years budget before you go live you are making things very difficult from the start. |
