| We stumbled across this group earlier today and after reading what this group is about it seemed that we should join. My wife and I started a "Virtual Mall" about a month ago. I have a background in software engineering and searched until I found a piece of eCommerce software that could support creation of multiple stores in a single instance of the software. We too were pretty upset with eBay and the high charges by Amazon. It seemed that the large eCommerce and auction sites all became very greedy all at about the same time. This is what gave my wife an I the idea of creating a Virtual Mall where for a small monthly amount and a low transaction fee people could run thier online stores and keep the majority of thier revenue. Right now we have 3 stores in the process of being populated. One almost done and 2 just starting. Each store automatically pushes it's merchandize to Google Merchant Center (formerly Froogle) which seems to be getting more and more popular. We're here and if anyone needs an eCommerce site we can help. Our site is hosted on a multi-processor HP server which is hosted by us with 15MB of bandwidth, burstable to 30MB. |
