| dont have alot of time right now, but can somebody see how it works? there are alot of linking services around that end up having your site banned from Search Engines, link farms I think. |

| This seems to be legit. You get permanent backlinks and get to bid on what Pagerank you are ok with using. It's a pretty cool setup. We're gonna update everyone as time goes on. |

Sounds intresting. I know having your links on some sites can actually hurt your page rank. But please keep us up to date on your success with this.
I found this article where someone did a review.

It didn't really say if it helped or hurt him but he does seem pleased with the system. |

| That is the same article that got me going there. I am hoping it works as we are trying a lot of different things to drive traffic to our website. I wrote 3 different articles this morning. That will hopefully do something. We'll keep everyone posted! |

| Have you had that in long enough to give an assessment of it? |

| I don't know if it was our fault or theirs, but it didn't work at all. In all honestly we have removed it from our site. If someone else can get it to work, go for it! |

There is no shortcut to good cross-linking, IMO. You have to do your homework, get to know the other party and take the time to make a request for mutual links.
The main reason I avoid these automated systems is that it is too easy for undesirable sites to slip into the mix, and often that can result in rejection by a major Search Engine, so why risk it? |

| I agree with you Dee, it has taken a lot of time but we are finally ranking well on MSN. Google and Yahoo are slowly moving us up the ranks for our main keywords. I hate being sandboxed! I don't know if the software works or not, but I became impatient and removed the code from my site. |

Honestly we couldn't figure it out, which was why we gave up on using them. We have tried all kinds of tricks to get our pagerank and link popularity up and the only things that work are the hardest to do. Here is a list of what we think helped us:
1. Directories! Submit to as many directories as possible. A lot of them are paid submission types, but they are the ones that give you the most bang for your buck.
2. Articles. We have written a few articles and they bring us a good amount of quality traffic. Plus, every article produces another backlink to your website.
3. Trade links We use linksmanager.com and they handle all of the cosmetic integration and give you a dashboard and database to find customers to trade links with. MOST IMPORTANTLY - Use the google toolbar to check the page rank of sites you trade with. If the site has a completely gray bar, don't link to them. It is OK if they link to you though.
4. Press Releases Our Press Release from 6 months ago is still listed and generates some traffic to us still. It gives your company more credibility with a consumer.
5. Careful use of Keywords in content - Make sure that there are variations on your most important keywords. Use any words that someone would type to find you.
6. Use text links on every page - Search engines cannot always follow those nice looking link toolbars. Google recommends that you still use text links to link to every page on your site. That makes it easier for the search engines to find pages on your website.
7. Be mindful of the words used in a link - Anchor Text or the words used when posted a link is extremely important. If you put the words click here into google it will bring up Adobe's website. If you think about it, you will normally see Click Here as the text leading you to Adobe's website. They do not even use the words click here on their site. It is because of the text that is used in links to their site.
We have plenty more tricks up our sleeves and would be happy to help any of the members of PSU that we have grown so close to since we joined. PM us if you need us! |

Hello memfoamfurnitue,
I am the admin of AdCaliber. I'm sorry for your trouble in using our system. It seems I went overboard with features and a lot of people were having trouble setting up campaigns. I have simplified everything and now the only thing you have to specify for a campaign is the nice and pagerank.
To answer someone else's question, no, it is not necessary to link back to adcaliber. You just add the code and you will automatically be connected to other member's sites.
Thanks, guys! |
