I have several BLUJAY stores & run my ads for 30 days at a clip.

I usually wait until 15 days have past & then I update them to go back to 30 days.

At the bottom of the page, there was always a check box to update as many at a time, as you wanted. Just like a check box to delete or put on hold.

You only had to check the box once & all would be updated or held or deleted.

Also, it always showed how many days were left on the right, next to each item...

That is gone now & so is the ability to update all listings with one click.

Added to each listing now, is a drop down for a choice of "new" "used" "refurb"

I can't even tell how long my listing have left. 180 days or relist every 30 days.

I even tried to delete a few items & was told I was denied. I actually had to click on the actual item & delete it from the item page, one at a time...

Very time consuming.

When did they change all this? What was once a breeze to use, has become a complete PITA...

I know it's free but why fix what isn't broken?

6 stores & hundreds of items, I'd be months fixing, changing, updating now...

The problem was, that it was broken. Google requires that each item state whether it's "New", "Used" or "Refurbished". Until now, Adam had simply listed everything as Used, which caused quite a few sellers to complain.

Google also like ads that run for 30 days. Anything longer than that and they tend to get dropped. So having the ability to go in and change your listing duration might be nice for you, until you notice your items not showing up in Google.

Someone on Blujay has theorized that perhaps Adam is going to handle it the way eCrater has. Each ad is good until sold, so you only have to list the item once and forget about it, until you sell the item and wish to delete it.

Just be thankful that Adam has come out of his coma and taken an interest in the site once again.

lol @ lizard

I hadn't notice him being in a coma!

So what I need to do is check each item as being new, used or refurb?

That will take some time but it is a good thing...

Thanks lizard :)

I like the fact that the owner has made are items on as long as we want them to be until they sell like a store should be...Adam has always been around and now he is taking time out to fix and update things which is great blujay is #1 to me its easy and free (I like keeping all my money nothing better then that)!

Adam has always been around?

That's why it took more than a year to get my IDs deleted?

Adam was nowhere to be seen on Blujay for quite some time. I'm glad he's finally woken up to the fact that the place was falling apart.

Hopefully, he'll stay around long enough to realize that the mods he named were part of the problem. Especially mods grape and peach.

gemini dreams The owner has been updating the site...Yeah!
Listings no longer have an expiration so you really don't need to do anything with any of your ads other than make sure they are Google compliant.

Condition has been added to ads, so you can now update 100 items at a whack so it goes pretty quickly.

Things are now going pretty smoothly, the owner has been posting occasionally as well...this will certainly help the growth of Blujay.

I'm slowly changing each one of my items to which ever condition fits and at same time upgrading my shipping in a lot of places.
So knowing they are all going to be 30 days by the time I get all of the over 1000 items fixed, I will hope all features are fixed on BluJay too.
Love the site, works well for me, always has.

When in the world is Blujay going to "hide" items that are "on hold" ???

I have items that I don't currently have available. But I don't want to delete the listing because I do hope to have them again some day.

On other sites if those items are put in a "hold" or "reserve" status, they are totally hidden from customers AND not sent to Google.

At Blujay they are still open for viewing and get sent to Google, a customer that finds them just cant buy them. Frankly I'm surprised that Google doesn't kick BJ out for that reason. It confuses the heck out of buyers to find an item but see the "on hold" status.

Another site owner said on his site making items on hold hidden is not a big deal. Only 1 line of php code. Maybe it's more with the BJ site, but still shouldn't be a hard thing to implement.

BJ used to be my best alt site for sales. But the last 2 years, it has totally fallen off the map for me. Yes I'm still getting some sales, but they are few and far between now compared to before.

But that's just MY experiances. YMMV,

Unless Adam has fixed it recently, you can't do anything 100 items at a whack.

You have to do each one seperately.

Carol,

When I was there, we would tell sellers to just reduce ad duration to zero. Then they wouldn't show up any longer.

Now sure if that's an option anymore.

Most if not all of my "on hold" listings are NOT on "auto relist" and are expired. But they still show up.

I had a question from a buyer yesterday on an item that has been "on hold" for a long time. At eC it's only visible to ME in my edit area. At BJ buyers can still see it.

I just checked the site without loging in and all my on hold items are showing up in a search for their general category.

I then checked by loging in to my account and looking at "manage my adds". As mentioned before there is no longer a listing duration as there used to be. All those "on hold" listings had been allowed to expire as far as I know. But now they apearently are "live again", just "on hold".

That just doesn't make sense. Looks like I will be deleting those listings. When I do get those back, they won't be up there again. Too much of a PITA now.

We used to go in and change the ad duration to zero. That way, they wouldn't show up in your webstore.

But with Adam's new changes, it appears, that he has fixed one problem and created another.

Maybe you'd be nice enough to let him know about it? You can find the address in their message forum easily enough.

Frankly I don't really care any more.

Even with the listings expired before I would get questions about items. Maybe at that time a buyer would have to go to my store to find those "on hold" items. I don't know.

So I just deleted those listings that won't be back for a long time. That takes care of the problem for me.

I'm tired of having to spend a whole lot of time on some sites that just aren't producing for me. Frankly the site that I hardly have to touch has been doing the best lately.

The reason you got questions about items that had expired, is simply they were still showing on one or more of the search engines.

Remember, Adam only submitted to Google once per month.

It appears that now there will be no expiration date on sellers items. Just like eCrater, once you list the item, it's there until sold or deleted.

And boy are the sellers over there griping about it.

I don't think so. Most of those items were LONG expired, like months expired. Then out of the blue I would get a question.

But it's not important any more.

The site is now different so I took care of anything that might be a problem by deleting it.

Both my own web site and eC are doing great for me right now. BZ not as well as last year. But I'm still on a record pace for me for the total sales. So I really don't care about BJ any more. If I do get a few sales there (and I have) that will be gravy.

Too bad, I used to really like Blujay. I WAS my best alt site for a long time.
