FOUR years ago Matt and Amanda Clarkson were broke. He was a jobbing carpenter, she sold pies from a rusty white van.

Buttoday they live a life of yachts, luxury cars and designer clothes... aftermaking s8MILLION selling goods on eBay.

The couple who both left school at 16 with few qualifications started their business in the spare room of their two-bedroom flat, and now make s750,000 on average a year.

Amanda,44, says: The eBay site definitely changed our lives. Ours is very much a rags to riches tale. eBay has given us a lifestyle that we only dreamed of.

It's a world away from just a few years ago when Matt was sweating it out onbuilding sites and I was serving builders food in my van called the Pie Princess.

It was an absolute nightmare and after three years I was really worn down. But we both had a dream of doing something more with our lives.

Theyare now one of the auction websites biggest success stories and have beendubbed The eBay Magicians for the business, which has bought them abeach-front home on Australia's Gold Coast, a yacht, luxury cars and {expensiveclothes. Last week Australians Matt and Amanda flew to London for a two-day event to teach would-be entrepreneurs how to set up an eBay business.

Their rise to riches began four-and-a-half years ago when Matt, 38, was working as a carpenter on a millionaires mansion.

That's pretty surprising that they do a lot of house wares like pots, pans, cutlery... I'd have never guessed that'd be an open market. Same with camping goods. That kind of goes against the grain because it's such a saturated and competitive market for goods like that.

I've always stuck to the unusual and hobbyist kind of things.

In actuality, Matt and Amanda found some awfully good drugs and have imagined everything else.

I lurk once in a while but rarely post anymore. But I just HAD to say I had the same thought earlier today when I saw this story.
Then my next thought was, maybe ebay helped them along the way, so idiots can have a feel good goal, and dump loads of money in ebay fees emulating these two!

I'm not buying it!

LOL, reminds me of many of farmers here acting so high and mighty as if they are some kind of business great. Take away the fact that they inherited several farms from their folks debt free they would be the same drunks as they are now except they would be living in a gutter.

Matt & Amanda Clarkson Complaint Boards review

Their User ID is not revealed which I find strange. But they sure charge alot of money for their books and dvds that supposedly teach people how to make a lot of money on ebay.

General opinion seems to be that their info is outdated, overpriced, and that's how they make their money nowadays.

Hmm, interesting article, maybe it is a big ruse to get folk listing pots n' pans and the like to raise the listing fees revenues for ebay.
It strikes me as a little odd that no one has posted their ebay ID, if indeed it ever did exist in the successful format that it supposedly was, who knows, maybe some in the know person will post their ID so we can all see just hoe easy it really can be to make money on ebay, as if !

The reason people don't post their seller ID is because they don't want "haters" coming in and bombing them. When I posted on ebay's boards I had people report me when I posted of my successes. When I posted on here of my successes, people hated on me as well. Luckily, I learned from the ebay boards and use a name here that isn't connected to my selling ID at all.

People want to loath in their own self pity, and when others tell them they are just lazy or haven't yet figured it out they get pretty sour about it.

The fact of the matter is eBay has put me through school the last 2 years, lined my pockets and given me a TON of experience.

But like anything its not easy and it takes a lot of work, sacrifice and RISK. You have to be willing to risk money as well. Risk and reward people.

That being said I doubt what they say is true, and like someone mentioned its just them trying to sell books.

In before the "haters!"

Well, if two folks made 1 million, let alone 8 million, my hat is definitely off to them!

That's an extraordinary achievement, and certainly is not out of the realm of possibility.

Success stories are good things to hear, and I'm inclined to believe that these people did it.

Good for them!

If nothing else, it's a good motivational thing. Success requires effort for sure, and maybe these two individuals stepped up to the effort required and made it work. 8)
