For golfers who pay hundreds for a single putter, it was a dream come true - top branded clubs being offered on eBay for as little as £35.

Thousands across the world were tempted and parted with an estimated £3million.

But when an Essex pensioner complained about the quality of her purchase she helped unravel the auction site's biggest ever fraud.

The clubs were fakes, produced in a Chinese factory in a scam masterminded from Essex by Gary Bellchambers, 46.

Christine Manz had complained to Bellchambers about the poor quality of a club she bought. But when she was ignored, she went to her local trading standards office.

The pensioner was not the only customer who was left unhappy with their buy.

It still never fails to amase me what people fall for on ebay and Craig's list. Once again its mentioned that ebay were made aware of what was going on and did nothing.
They should rename it Scambay.

The largest scam on ebay IS eBay itself.

Don't you just love how ebay is typically the darling of the media. Even when they do investigation reports they do not do the research - the reporters have obviously never sold anything and know nothing about all the stuff thats been reported on here.

Look at how Meg is treated. Initially the business darling of all media, but since she hooked up with the republicans I've seen a investigation report on a Liberal station (CNN, MSNBC, etc...) about eBay that had negative content and Glen Beck has had Meg on at least twice and I hear praise from FOX. Yet on the other hand if she had gone with the Democrats it would be reversed.

Yet what is missing is the truth. MEG IS NOT A BUSINESS GURU. She is another large corporate ceo who scammed the system and got rich off stock slaes and other people's work. Small time sellers like us built ebay - not her, and what did we get in return - we got shafted. eBay is not innovative its a all controlling monster.

Lesson learned - believe nothing that comes out of the mouth of politicians, news media, or ceos.

So why on earth are not the liberals capitalizing on the truth about eBay to destroy Meg's run for governor? The fact that they are so lacking in their ability to reveal the truth about ebay and Meg's true business practices tells me they are just as bad as Meg.
