If my items for whatever reason aren't showing up in google base, they still will show in a regular Google Search
Am i correct in thinking this?
Thanks |

Google base IS the regular Google search.
There is Google base and Google Products. |

Ok excuse my stupidity...google is very confusing to me
google products is where our market place feeds are submitted to
google base is just the plain old www.google.com search
correct? |

Google base is the tool used to upload the product feed from my web site to Google Shopping (product search).
Google.com is the search engine. If your items show up on the first page of a Google search, you are very fortunate. I sell books and there is so much competition, that anything on my web site will be shown on page 50!
However, most of my books show up very high in Google shopping when searching by book title. |

Up until recently, one could search Google base.
I'm amazed that any of your items show up lash, since Google forbids items being listed on more than one site. |

| Blujay only submits items to Google base once per month. |

but last year it seemed that blujay was never on froogle...it just seems of late...i never know what to think as far as where our feeds stand with blujay...but i love the format
i get more on ecrater...(except for this horrible month) but i do find alot of times i get non payers
which site do you like best? what seems to be the best way to go?
i also heard this month that facebook has passed google....is that where this is going? that people will be searching for product more on social networking sites rather than search engines?
I have alot to learn...i should be reading alot more on these forums!! |

The products that I upload from my website are different than the books I have on eCrater. With Bonanzle I opt out of the Google feed, so with all three sites I have no duplication. |

my stuff shows up in bonanzle but i have never had a sale on bonanzle!! i sure like the format though
i list my simplest "cheapest" "easiest" type sheet music on ecrater and blujay
and sell them for .99 cents...i get the odd sale from blujay and have sold 104 items in the last year on ecrater ...yippeee!! $102 minus the paypal charges!!
i won't be sending my son to college any time soon!!!
so i should try to mix it up more between blujay and ecrater so as not to get in trouble? maybe i should opt out of blujay like you do with bonanzle as my blujay items are rarely on froogle anyhow? |

I don't think Blujay allows you to opt-out. I know eCrater doesn't.
Bonanzle does though.
But the question is...why not put some of the better higher priced sheet music on eCrater? |

i was brainstorming in the car (maybe not the best place to do it)
i haven't sold a darned thing on bonanzle anyhow so maybe i should do it that way...do i just email them and ask them to take me off the feed? i would like to still keep my booth up
everything seems to be trial and error when finding the best place to sell
ebay definitely brings in the business but the fees are outrageous...i like everyone else i would assume wants to eventually be free of evilbay
out of all of the other storefronts i have tried, i would have to say that ecrater gets the most hits
i'm also trying to build 2 websites of my own and that is going to take sometime to build up as well
what sites do you like DaLizardslair? (I really appreciate all of the support you get at PSU...ecraters form moderators scare the life out of me!!!)
and now to make me even more confused, is the talk about facebook and myspace being the place to sell....its not easy for an old gal like myself!! |

Why would you try and build two websites at the same time? Why not start with one and then learn from your mistakes on the second one?
I like eCrater and Vendio, both sites offer FREE webstores, but I found Vendio to be a very confusing site.
As far as Facebook & MySpace, from what little I understand, MySpace is yesterday's news...Facebook is the current big thing.
But again, I'm not into social interaction on the internet...not that way at least. |

i don't know....my exhusband always says i flit from one thing to another and never end up accomplishing anything...he may have a point
(actually the two sites i am building will enable direct downloads for customers because with the free sites i have to email the product to the customer and i think instant downloads are what people prefer these days)
i looked at vendio as well and i agree it was confusing...were you ever able to figure it out?
personally, i hate facebook...but everything in the online world is changing so quickly
ok...back to bonanzle...should i just send them an email asking to be taken off the feed? i sure hope i can keep my booth |
