Hello all and thank you in advance for your help. I'm a bit frustrated. We've installed the PSU Google Checkout module for VM and it's working except as stated below. My coder (who wrote some core code of VM with Sören Eberhardt-Biermann) has emailed back and forth whoever is at psunite@gmail.com and info@powersellersunite.com. (S/he never provided a name in the replies to us. Dunno why.) Then with the last, tough question, it's now been nine days and no reply from PSU. Dunno why. Here is the whole thread so everyone can understand.

I just got a phone order which allowed me to go through the entire registration and GC process acting as the shopper. Here is one fairly important problem/issue I see. At the end of the VM checkout, after the shopper clicks the GC button, the page is a form to fill out billing and credit card info. The first thing I thought was, "Dangit I just entered my name, address and phone in at the store registration page. I don't want to do it again. This sucks." Shopper will think the same, and possibly abandon the sale. Why isn't the billing info getting passed on? The shipment method and cart contents are there, getting passed on. Please help us get this data to fill in automatically. Surely the GC API allows this. Thank you.

It looks like that person has not registered on Google Checkout before. First time you sign up for Google Checkout it will asks for your billing and credit card information. After that once you sign into your Google checkout account it remembers it. Now that person an shop anywhere that supports google checkout and not have to enter in the information once they log in to their account.

That's not the point. The point is that the shopper should not need to rekey data that he already provided, regardless of whether the shopper is already registered with GC. Your software should pass the shopper's data (name, address, phone) to the fields on that GC page.
This is critical, PSU. The reason I switched from PayPal is that the shopper had to take extra steps in order to pay. Making the shopper rekey data is almost worse.
*** I just tested the PP checkout on our store for an unregistered PP shopper, the parallel scenario as stated above with GC. When clicking the link to continue without a PP account and enter the c/c data, the shopper's data from our store is PREFILLED. If PP can do it, so can you, please! ***
PSU forum: Let's try to get PSU to fix this, and at least reply. I want to say :psulove: again! |
