You are not blocked at all. But we had to delete some of your posts for example topic "Go to the Goat - www.AuctionGoat.com" which was in the onlineauction section and the contents where the same as "TOTALLY FREE - PAY NOTHING, NADA, ZIP, Zero..." in the Other online auction site section. Which violated the first 3 rules

Hello psunite. I noticed this happens repeatedly. Every time I mention a new feature we discovered at www.onlineauction.com IN a discussion thread that relates to onlineauction.com, people trying to promote their own (different auction) site are clogging our thread with a sales pitch to go to their site (they are doing this on almost every other topic as well). It becomes time consuming to then respond to a legitimate question or comment and have to read through all the extraneous "stuff" (there are a few repeat offenders, and you probably can tell who they are).

We do not promote any site currently. I am the only one going through posts so it is hard for me to catch everything but I have been deleting a lot of spam lately.

We are looking for moderators that are not affilated with any site. If you are intrested please PM me.

Hi All!
I don't want to sound critical, but why are we calling owners of the other auction sites "spammers"? Are we not trying to promote alternatives to eBay??
How are they to get to us and let us know they exist if we don't want them to come by and introduce themselves?
I invited Kevin from auctiongoat.com to check this forum out. He has a small site that he is doing a GREAT job with! Thought he might get some good ideas from the experience that is definitely oozing from this forum! I vote we try to tolerate the occasional introduction. Obviously, if someone is going WAY overboard then they should be keyed down a bit, but you never really know where the next big site is going to come from... sites need buyers, and if someone comes up with a gimmick that brings buyers in, then I'm sure most of us are going to at least TRY out that site!

The reason it is considered as spamming is because like other site owners, auctiongoat has been advertising his site on nearly every discussion thread. If he wants to promote his site under a topic relating to his site, that is one thing, but it is unfair to everyone else to have "advertisements" break up a discussion thread (when this happens, we feel we've been spammed, especially when we're discussing a particular issue).

Greetings from Oregon. I agree with the rules of dialogue...seem pretty reasonable to me, and besides, the spamming on these threads was starting to weigh on me. In an effort not to become bogged down with cheerleading our individual sites, it's more helful to get the meatier dialogue, on sites, servers, tech and other related issues. It's nice when everyone considers others! To just post individual weblinks is actually akin to preaching to the choir. I'm not real interested in your auction site, unless you can promote the honest virtues of it, then your passing valuable info. If I gotta suffer through endless advertisements, with no, to little merit, I'll turn on the noisebox, better known as a television. Please, a little less self promotion, alot more creative commotion...then we won't get mired in someone trying to out cheer the other. Anyway, I sure appreciate this site, and I find that I learn more by listning than talking, so I relly prefer to stay back, and just absorb the truly fascinating information. Psunite...I appreciate your hard work, and want to say thank you for a VERY difficult job, that I'm sure you're asking yourself, why you ever created this workout in the first place. Please, keep doin' what you're doin', and the good things hafta come back to ya! Just my opinion, Dan, out.

Hi Dan,
I too fully agree! I had recommended this site to Kevin and I think he spent the whole day posting!
You're right in the information that I've gotten here. It's refreshing to listen to everyone and realize that I'm not the only poor sap that felt I was being taken by the corporate greed at ePay.
As for information on the other auction sites, maybe there is a way to streamline the info. Is there a thread specifically for listing new sites?
I admit I haven't gone searching. Thought you might know.

Thanks for listening.

Chuck
