"So how do you feel about getting back on eBay Australia,after all these years?", asked the journalist on the phone and I did have to pause to answer. October 30, 2001 had been a significant milestone, when Paymate was launched on eBay Australia as the country's first person to person online payment service. It was good to be back, though the road has been long and tortuous.
Enough has been said in the media on our campaign since April 2008 to have Paymate offered as an alternative on the popular eBay platform for Australia and New Zealand. Yesterday, eBay and Paymate went public on our plan to integrate Paymate services into Checkout for ease of use by buyers and security of payments for sellers.
The journey has been circuitous, via eBay.com - the largest eBay platform with about USD 20 billion worth of annual sales in the North American market - where Paymate has been integrated into Checkout since March 2009. Paymate's had a great response from US clients, both on ebay.com and on websites.
