How can one tell how many hits their Ecrater store is getting?

Is there a counter somehwere for the store and each item?

I opened up about a month ago and do not expect sales at first, but I would like to know if my stuff is at least being looked at.

Thanks.

You can add google analytics to ecrater which is free and get all tracking info like no of visitors, source of search,no of hits etc.

Also ecrater has it own hit counter which is displayed to left of each item is administrative menu. But it also count your own visit and no way to filter it out like google analytics.

Sitemeter won't work with ecrater as there is no html support.

There is a counter on each item in your store!

If you haven't installed GA...you need to, it's a wonderful tool which shows what's most popular, where shoppers are coming from and how long a customer actually stays in your store. Look in your dashboard under Account > Options you will see where to install the GA ID#. First you need to sign up for an account http://www.google.com/analytics/

Ecrater has its own counters. log in, go to "products" like you are going to add an item and all your stock is there with the months hits. i think they reset once a month. the google analyics are nice too.

Ok, found em'. Even if half my hits on each item are my own and not new visitors, it looks like the stuff is getting looked at a bit which is nice to know.

Yes I get a few views every day.
But I would like a few sales every day and a hundred views a day !
My product shows up on Google Product Search, but my problem is that as my product is new and unique, nobody knows it exists, so they will not be searching for it.

I think the hits will only be your own, if you actually click on the item !

Digmen You might consider some networking like FB or Twitter. I'm not a chatter at either place, but it will get you some exposure. You can easily tweet new items and you can also place items in the Facebook classifieds. Free advertising, both are easy tools to use!

Hot Nana

Thanks for that !
I tried paying for ads on Facebook (they are great for me as they show pics) a while ago I got some hits to my site and a couple of sales, but it cost me too much for the ads (you have to bid for them).

I have not tried twitter - I must try that.
And I had not heard of Facebook Classifieds !

Thanks again

You Are Welcome!!

I was very hesitant to sign up with either of them, you hear good and bad about both. I just list my stuff or tweet and I'm done...no chitty chatty for me. I do see hits every day from both places, not sure it's brought in any sales, but it's worth a shot!

Another option is signing up for both, then you can list a few items on Oodle.com and they will send your items to Facebook and to MySpace classifieds...this will certainly get you a boost in visitors! I always put my store URL in my listings. You will see a huge increase in direct hits to your store when you look at your GA.

Not sure what the hell you are saying. The hits will be only my own. Are you saying that none of the hits are from buyers or potential buyers?

No way, 1/2 of them are my own hits, the other half are folks looking at my merch.

One thing that excites me is that I have a product line that is not exploited much on Ecrater. I looked up my items on Ecrater, and there are less than 300 total there for the category. I have 10,000 items I am working up with pictures in the category.

It's a common line of items, but the sellers have not flocked to EC yet for this stuff. I think that puts me at a very slight advantage.

No what they are saying is when you are looking through your store like a buyer does, then whatever item you visit(look at) Google Analytics counts your visits as a hit also. Not saying all of the hits are from you, and not Buyer or Potential buyers..

I read what was said, and I answered in reply to this comment:

"I think the hits will only be your own, if you actually click on the item !"

The hits will be my own and everyone else's if the item is viewed at all. Digmen's comment was incomplete sounding to me. And if one can't be complete, then why bother responding.
