PayPal exists to make money, not to help you. That's why the unregulated money broker likes to ensure that when you pay with a linked account, you pay via the ATM debit card setting, because it's cheaper for PayPal. Of course, that "savings" is sometimes deducted from you in the form of a transaction fee by your bank, but PayPal doesn't care. If you want to change that payment method the next time you use PayPal, be prepared to jump through a lot of hoops.

Paul at Ecto-Web was frustrated by a recent debit charge fee triggered by a PayPal transaction, so he tried to change his default payment settings on the site. Not only would this prevent future ATM charges, he figured, but it would give him the chance to accrue reward points on his credit card and let him take advantage of the card's buyer protection coverage.

He quickly discovered that PayPal doesn't even provide a way to change your default payment to credit card. What's worse, the company takes great pains to hide any customization option from you during the payment process.

Instead, you'll have to manually change the payment settings each time you use PayPal. You can check out all the screen caps on Paul's blog, but essentially you'll have to click the link to change your payment method once you've hit the "Review your payment" screen, then change the funding source to credit/debit card and hit continue, then click a newly visible "Funding Sources" text link to change the network that PayPal uses.

I have always paid with my credit card through paypal. You do have to make some extra steps when you make a payment, like make sure your paypal account is empty, but I do it as a safety measure for me.

If what I paid for doesn't show up, is broken or isn't what I ordered and the person or business I bought it from won't work with me or 'disappears' and paypal won't or can't get me my money back I will simply do a chargeback on my credit card and let paypal worry about getting their money back from the seller or business.

I haven't had to use the chargeback but it is there as an extra protection if I need it. I have been ripped off too many times.

When I am using usps multi order shipping with paypal they always take money from bank account and no option to make them take it from my credit card.

I am loosing my credit card rewards points and also I have to make sure that I have enough money in account to cover any paypal transaction.

I removed my bank account. But paypal limited my account after $5000 sending limit and forced me to add a bank account.Very frustrated with them.

I've considered changing my bank account number, and not telling paypal. So that no withdrawls cannot be made from it by pp, and simply not telling pp about this change. That way I would have that same account on file, but it would be a dead account number.

Then why are you shipping that way? If you want to be kicked in the butt all the time by PP, then keep shipping that way. The simplier method is to open a USPS/UPS/FEDEX accts, using your credit card. They will debit your card right away. If you primarily use USPS to ship, their Click & Ship system is the best, AND you get an online discount PLUS you get FREE delivery confirmation AND you get the Scan form which helps you track your shipment through their system. PLUS you can call for a FREE pick up from your post office, you don't even have to go there yourself. Just make sure you understand how the scan form works and that your Postman has his remote/portable scanner on him. They scan the form upon picking up your package, you KEEP the form for your records, and it goes into the system. This is ONLY available if you use the click/ship system. And its (scan tracking system) FREE FREE FREE FREE! You can even order your FREE FREE FREE boxes online and have it shipped to you FREE FREE FREE. Why would you get screwed, blued and tatooed by paypal?

Why would you lose your points, etc? And, BTW.. you CAN do multiple shipping... I do it each and every day for a client where I work. I introduced him to the USPS click/ship system, and ALL orders going to the west coast goes via USPS. They are fast, reliable, and most times cost a heckava lot less then UPS/Fedex. And where they come out about the same, you can't match the delivery time. From the east coast to the west coast it takes UPS/Fedex Ground 5 business days, NOT including the day its picked up, and NOT including weekends. That potentially makes it almost 2 weeks to get a package from the east to the west depending on the day you ship. USPS delivers on saturday (so far its not been changed), and it has never taken more then 3 days. We ship an average of 25 to 30 packages this way a day. Its a very efficient shipping method, and very cost saving on most shippments.

edited to add: And when you add your customers email address, they will get an automatic email with the tracking number. There is even a small area in which you can add a message that will show up in their email notification.
