|
|
eBay sellers are reporting a problem with PayPal's online postage printing that is costing them hundreds of dollars. Normally after receiving an error message when printing shipping labels, sellers can try to print the labels again and only be charged once - when the label prints correctly. But beginning Wednesday evening, PayPal charged sellers each time he or she attempted to print labels after receiving an error message.
A seller posting on the eBay discussion boards said he was facing overdraft fees to his checking account because of the withdrawals for ghost postage labels since he had never found a way to use his credit card for funding multi order shipping.

| Since PayPal is aware of this situation, and since the fault is PayPal's, PayPal should take care of those affected by this immediately, rather than make folks wait for reimbursement. |

| I don't understand only the eBay sellers. Or this is happening to anyone trying to print a postage from the Paypal page? |

I use Payal's online USPS shipping service (as far as I'M concerned, the ONLY thing Paypal is good for).
YES - I ran into this problem. But for cryin' out loud...it was easy to tell that there was a problem, thing just didn't "look" right on the screen when the label printed out. (Print out a few thousand labels and you'll know what I mean).
I'm NOT a computer-literate person but if someone like ME could catch it....well...
Besides, while it was Paypal's fault (of course they'll deny it, as their system works perfectly all the time with no exceptions), it's not like Paypal was making any money on this.
I saw there was a problem, I applied for a refund and I've got to wait a few days before I get it....things happen.
Don't get me wrong - I'm about as far as you can get from a "cheerleader" for ebay/Paypal as you can get, but feces occurs |

| I dont use Paypal shipping but prefer Stamps.com. If something goes wrong, you can reprint a label or if it is very wrong, you can request a refund and it takes about 1 week to come back. I use my CC for stamps.com so I get the reward benefits. With Paypal, it is just deducted from my account which is no incentive at all. |

Patchdog,
Out of curiosity, do you get any sort of "discount" using Stamps.com? Like 19 cent DC (free with Priority) or a little bitty discount on non flat rate Priority shipped packages?
Thanks,
Marc |

| The DC discounts you mentioned. You do get "hidden" postage on the label for the 15 dollar per month subscription fee. Cuts down on shipping cost complaints. The main thing is that it is quicker and easier than using PP shipping in my opinion. |
