PayPal issued release notes for developers on Monday on changes affecting third-party applications. Consumers will now be able to use guest credit card payments in the Adaptive Payments Web Flow so they complete payments in third-party applications without having a PayPal account. PayPal said it was the number-one requested feature from developers since it rolled out Adaptive Payments last fall.
PayPal also informed developers that the Adaptive Payments consumer experience would be upgraded to the new PayPal payment flow design being rolled out across all PayPal products. The new UI will show the merchant's business name instead of their email address and will have a split slider showing the payment breakdown on the left and the login/approval on the right.
