Been only on Amazon for about two weeks. Sold about 100 items, yet no reviews at all.
Today when I checked in, found a neg feedback. Then my feedback becomes 100% neg !!!
Anybody know how to deal with this? Would this bad review be a big problem with the account? Would Amazon frozen the account, and that you can't list things and withdraw your money?
It's so d hard to get a positive review, yet so easy to get bad ones. what should i do? |

Listen to this: Howmuch did you invest to start an amazon business? $100? $200?
Just invest another few bucks to the buyer, meaning that you give him a partial or full refund if he or she will remove the negative feedback, and I'll tell you a secret after a buyer removes a feedback they are becoming restricted from amazon to resubmit it again, so you don't have to be worried if the buyer will resubmit the negative feedback |

Feedback on Amazon can be extremely difficult. I've been selling on Amazon for a few years and have received zero ratings within the last 90 days. Only 16 ratings within the last year. Just because one of those ratings is 3 out of 5 stars, that counts as a neutral and drops my positive feedback percentage all the way down to 94%.
It can be a very difficult game. You can try doing some reading on the forums at Amazon to get some ideas from sellers who've had better luck. |

The fact is, folks seldom leave feedback at Amazon, and when they do, it tends to be negative.
Amazon feedback tends to be an unfair representation as a result. |

I don't sell in Amazon, but it looks that is really a miracle get a Feedback over there. And I believe that getting Feedback in eCrater was difficult.
salesonamazon that is a great advise. Lets buy some Feedback. Lets show to the buyers that everything they leave a negative feedback they can get item plus refund.
susanbluelans, I was looking your store in Amazon. You received another Negative Feedback for the same item. My advises:
1) Stop using the generic photos and grab your camera and take photos of the actual items.
2) If you a lot of the same item. Open one and check it before writing title and description.
3) To avoid "smash" you know that you will need to get boxes, bubbles, cardboards, or bubbles envelopes. If you buy in Internet be ready to recycle some of them.
In the past I send single cards in a common whites envelopes. Never had a problem with any buyer for "smash" item or broken. Because the card was inside a toploader, then the toploader attached to a cardboard, and covered with the paper of the packing slip. Now after I see some damage letters I received by the USPS I get fear and I don't use anymore the common white envelope, now I use bubbles envelopes. |

A very accurate statement based on my experiences there. I used to beg and plead my buyers to leave feedback, but few did. The ones who responded usually said they didn't know how to post feedback. Oddly enough they had no problem finding the feedback button if there was any kind of problem with the order, no matter how small. :-/
If a seller has accumulated a decent pos/neg ratio at a site like eBay based on hundreds or thousands of transactions, I believe they will find it extremely difficult to maintain that same ratio at Amazon. Shoppers there tend to be in a different mindset than other buyers. They see feedback as a means of lodging complaints, whereas at other sites the function seems to be more community oriented, where each transaction partner can help the other build up his/her reputation, and each one understands the action to be of mutual benefit.

| I'm a frequent buyer on Amazon, and I don't pay much attention to feedback there. It just doesn't carry the weight that it does on eBay, IMO. I know it grates to get a negative, but just carry on as usual--there are some people you just can't please no matter what. |

Thank you very much for your advice. Actually I've already followed your way. I wrote to the buyer who left the neg, she promised to withdraw it after I made a full refund. Hope that she will keep her promises, since I've already made a full refund to her.

Hi Angelsong777, thanks for your sharings. I didn't know Amazon could be so hard on the feedback part. It's true that people tend not to leave any, unless it's neg. It's SO unfair, and I'm really exhausted begging people to withdraw the negs by making a full refund to them.
But to some clients, it just won't make him happy whatever you do.

Hi elpereles, wow I'm so impressed! And re the generic photos and description, actually that's when I first started to sell on Amazon. I was just a individual, couldn't post photos or wrote any descriptions. Only list the items after other people.
And when I found that people got the wrong item, I closed all the listings that can be confusing. Now that I'm a Pro Merchant, I can upload photos and creat details on the description page. Hope this will make things a little better.
Re the deliver material, I really need to work on that. Bubbles seem to be much more protected than the blank white envelop. But will the cost be much more? I'm not sure about the ratings on that.

If in Amazon you can't post your own photos and descriptions looks difficult to look different from other sellers.
I said about the photo because for example I took this item:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FAQ6S0?ie=UTF8&seller=ACBEQAY8K70EI&sn=Kriegsmarine
I can found th same generic photo in eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-Car-Charger-Adapter-Universal-iPod-Zune-Zen-PDA-/180487993234?cmd=ViewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a05ec3792
I said it because I know that some items sometimes has revision and they don't look the same when you open them.
About the refund just be careful. I remember to check your feedback in that moment and you only have 1 negative. It was to much coincidence to see some days later someone with the same item and problem. |

elpereles, wow, when i was looking at your signature, noticed that you had eshops almost everywhere! that's amazing! do you have enough energy for all of them? Just the one on amazon already made me exhausted for the past three weeks...
how long have you been selling online? And was it good?
Thanks for your advice on the photos and description, actually I'm now working on it. Trying to take photos for each item i'm gonna list. But you know there is not that much time to do everything just by yourself. |

Update: I got my first Amazon feedback in a few months today, and it's 3 out of 5 stars again, so neutral.
The effect it has is: Feedback for the last 30 days and 90 days is 100% Neutral, and positive feedback for the last 365 days has dropped to only 88% positive. Oddly enough, I still got 5 sales today despite the dismal feedback.
I'm trying to get this one removed on the grounds that the entire feedback is a product review. That isn't what feedback on Amazon is intended for.
edit: Update on the update ~ That feedback was removed quickly by Amazon. I got this from Amazon Seller Support:
We have confirmed that the feedback you submitted for our review was in violation of our feedback policy. Therefore we have removed the inappropriate entry. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. |

Telling Amazon customers that you will refund their money if they remove feedback could be a sure way to get a lifetime suspension. If the customer complains to Amazon that you will only refund if they remove feedback, Amazon will suspend you for life.
It is always best to give them a full refund or do what you can for the customer and after that is settled, then ask them to please remove their feedback.
Good luck with Amazon. I have been there for a few years and I have been very successful on their site. |

susanbluelans isn't a lot of energy take care of more than 1 site. In my case I spend more time taking photos, giving condition to items, and writing descriptions than posting or setting the site.
I said that about the photos and description because maybe spend some hours there can avoid you get a Negative Feedback or returning sale.
The only complains I received from some buyer is shipping cost and all the cases came from International buyers. They don't have justification because I never hide the S&H cost for the items. And they know that is the seller is in the US & US Territories shipping outside that area isn't the same cost. Thanks to God many of that sales never complete.
I'm not a powerseller or full time seller, but begin in 2005 selling things in eBay. But I learned in that site to wait for the "Free Fee Post" because maybe near 75% of the fees eBay get from me were posting items. After sometime when eBay stop that promotion I began to look to other alternatives.
For me the sales in the alternatives are good. Never a lot like eBay, but I don't have big complains, headaches or problems. |
