Hi Everyone, Just wondering if one is allowed to sell replicas on ebay as long as they are disclosed as replicas and not trying to sell them as authentic? Is this allowed or no? You know like handbags, watches, sunglasses, etc..

Every thing I posted for you is directly from ebay help pages and so is this stuff below it requires you do some reading so you don't get in trouble
What are the guidelines?
Here are some examples of items that can and can't be listed on eBay (note that this isn't an exhaustive list):

Allowed
Homemade movies you own the rights to

Music you wrote, recorded, and own the rights to

Photos you captured yourself and own the rights to

Software you created and own the rights to or have been authorized to sell online

Restricted
Public domain media (see our public domain media policy for more info)

Not allowed
Backup or archival copies of software

Bootleg recordings from concerts or other live shows (see our bootleg recordings policy for more info)

Counterfeits, fakes, or replicas of brand name items like:

Handbags (for example, a purse bearing the Chanel® name or logo that wasn't made by Chanel)

Scarves

Sunglasses

Wallets

Watches

Other accessories

Counterfeit electronics (like cell phones) or software

Counterfeit replacement parts or consumables that weren't made by the manufacturer that the items are labeled with. For example, a battery labeled as a Nokia® cell phone battery that wasn't made by Nokia

Fake autographs

Media (such as CDs or DVDs) containing scanned pages from a book, magazine, manual, or other copyrighted materials that you didn't officially create

Unauthorized or pirated copies of things like:

Adn the minute you put replica in the description in the title, Google will kick it out. Notify Ebay and you'll get whacked.

I guess he wants answer outside from ebay rules.
From what I have seen for past 10 years, there are hundreds types of replicas appeared.
Although ebay says it is not allowed, they ONLY action when:
1. too many complaints from buyers against a certain seller
2. political pressure, like LV Gucci.. etc
As they are too well-known brands, once eBay allows fakes of their products, they could give a big pressure that may even affect ebay stock index.

Smaller ones like Sanrio does NOT give pressure to eBay.
Check it out, tons of fake Hello Kitty products sell at a few bucks. You believe its real?

there are still a few fakes branded handbags sellers survive, but they can;t last long, or else they just create another account.
Too many ways to open multiple sellers accounts on eBay.

So do buyers. Remember the Nigerian scams for the last decade and still rapid now?
eBay just can't stop this effectively. Therefore eBay tends to help buyers more than sellers nowadays, especially the PayPal rules (like freezing your account). And this also causes honest seller leave eBay.
Fake sellers will still be there as they don't care too much on reputation, just open another account and he's back!
As long as eBay has the best traffic than others. They gain fast money.
Too many PayPal terrible stories we have heard.

mojavelyn don't worry about the guy answer. Just see links in the firm. It isn't my imagination. He looks like someone who have a lot of fake IDs. :roll:

One thing are imitations and other are "replicas". You can sell "Radox" watches, but you can't call or advertise the Radox as Rado.
