eBay confirmed it was testing a redesign of its View Item page that would remove the "Shipping and Payments" tab from the page. The tab is fairly new - eBay began testing it in 2008 as part of its View Item redesign testing.
This March 2009 article discusses the new design eBay rolled out at the time and states: "The company said that putting less critical features behind tabs emphasizes the most important information that buyers need when they make purchasing decisions, although some sellers have expressed concern over the fact that the full shipping and payment details are a click away from the main Item page."
Two years later, it appears eBay is likely to eliminate the tab. eBay spokesperson Johnna Hoff told AuctionBytes, "buyers want to see everything about an item on one page, without having to click through multiple pages or tabs for more information."

| Isn't that the way it was before they decided what buyers wanted the last time? |

We tried to tell ebay people did NOT want tabs to have to click through to see the information. They had that special forum page on the re-design and we told them over and over that it would not work.
As usual, they turned a deaf ear.
How long will we have to wait for other mistakes to be corrected? Too long for me as I have already given up and closed the store and moved on! |
