I started on Amazon June 6th, getting more orders by the day...very encouraging...I have only had 2 sales so far since September 2nd...its like my momentum just died

Went on the Amazon sellers forum and asked about it and one seller said
"I think the amazon search engine is not listing many of our open listings. I've contacted SS and they're 'working' on it (for the past 5 days now). It's hard for a customer to buy an item from you if they don't see your listing in their search."

I called Amazon Seller Support as well wondering if there was a problem with my listings...while waiting on hold for an agent...a recorded message has been saying that there is a problem with the order management section of the sellers account and a problem with "Browse and Search Indexing"

Could this be the problem?

The order management system was having a few problems weeks ago. And I have not heard about the browse and search indexing issues you mention.

But that said, my sales as of Sept. 3rd or 4th are down 50% or more. A real slowdown for more than a day or two. I'm hoping that this is just back to school, end of summer, people busy, people spending their limited money elsewhere, and that Oct. will be back to normal and everything will be fine.

Summers are generally a little slow, and since I had a fabulous summer on Amazon, I figure a little slump in Sept. is fine. Traditionally Oct. and Nov. are very nice and profitable for online sales. So as long as I get my great Oct. and Nov. and (at least) first week of Dec. than I'm fine.

This current slump should pass in another week.

Same here. Sales were average for first 10 days of Sept and then fell off a cliff. Very noticable downturn. I had heard about the search problem too.

Things are better the past 3 days or so.

My sales have yet to recover to pre Sept levels. That's fine as long as Oct. and Nov. are jam up rocking.

But it is weird to go 3 days with one sale when I was averaging 2-3 items a day for many months.

PS so long as I don't lose money on the $39.99 a month I pay I can live with a temp downturn. In other words, I need no less then 40 items sold before Oct. 11th.

I'm still showing a major slowdown, have sold 48 items in last 30 days, so $39.99 fees were not a waste.

Last week was also very slow, but 3 big ticket items made it seem like business as usual.

Last three days I have sold nothing. It might be time for me to drop prices on some items, items that show sellers have arrived and added that item below my cost since I listed mine. I may not be low enough on some items, things change over the months.
