I just tried to read a post about a coupon problem and it said, I didn't have permission to read in that part of the form? Is there different levels of this forum? Please explain. ;)

We do have a restricted support forum for our Web Hosting customers. Do you have a link to that post?

Good morning, yesterday I posted the following and it is now missing. I tried finding it in another thread and couldn't. If it violated some rule, I just want to know, but I didn't think it did. Thanks! (It was on the ebay section.)
_________

Ebay Is Unique Even On This Site?!?!?!

Something I’ve notice lately really bugs me…

Sometimes when I get on this website, I have noticed the advertisements on the side, top, etc. Some have been non-eBay sites, and sometimes, they are eBay auctions. Although I am not shopping/selling at eBay right now, I have clicked on links now and then just to see what they were advertising because of the pictures. (One day, it was nothing but test listings being advertised.)

Well, when I do this, it is always from the PSU home page when I first get on, so I always right click and choose either “open in new tab” or “open in new window”. Every site I have ever clicked on has always either opened in a new tab or window (whichever I have chosen)….except for eBay. Ebay’s advertisements always open in the window in place of the PSU’s page. Is this something they set up???

Even on my own computer in my own home, I can't get eBay to do what I want it to do!

Hello,
Alright, I am very new to this site, (as of yesterday) and very new to computers. So could some one explain exactly what spam is? or is the term applied differently in different venues?

Hi there Kat and welcome..
OK on line the term SPAM usually refers to:
Unsolicited usually commercial e-mail or PMs
sent to a large number of members or addies..it
is also advertising in inappropriate areas.
(uninvited and unwanted)

Lately, SPAM could refer to any unsolicited crap, wherever it is seen.

I'm sure others will be along with additional explanations and descriptions of SPAM.

Welcome to PSU! :)

@katbarton

Welcome also!

If you are unfamiliar with the world of forums on computer...

PM's are personal or private messages sent to a person who has 'posted' a comment, in order to contact them away from the public forum view. There is usually a button that provides this option.

Addies, I've always assumed to be an abbreviation of 'addresses' i.e. a person's email address or website link. Spammers use any means they can to bombard the innocent with their uninvited emails.

You'll soon get used to the expressions used here and on forums in general. Enjoy your new life with computers. Soon you will wonder how you managed without one for so long!
