| Hey Becky ~ Have you done a cleanup and reboot? That always works for me. I was having issues like that a couple of days ago. The reboot fixed it for me. |

I have the last Firefox. I have a crash with one of the Ad-ons updates and Firefox didn't wanted to open. First I believe it was the computer so I restart it. Nothing happpen. So I was secure it was the program. To resolve it was just open Firefox in its "Safe Mode" past the update for the Ad-on and everything was fine.
beckysthisnthat go to "Start" button, go "All Program - Mozilla", and open the Mozilla Firfox (Safe Mode). If Mozilla open without problem it is a error in an AD-On. Proceed to update the Ad-ons. |

I've done all the above. I am thinking it's the computer? It got fried with a lightning strike and have pieced it back together which is why I borrowed the laptop I have to give back.
Haven't tried uninstalling FF completely and starting over because I don't want to lose the bookmarks I've recovered. Is it best to uninstall via FF or from the control panel/add remove programs? |

| Uninstall from FF...and it will save your bookmarks for you, then reinstall them when you download the new version. I had to do this a while back due to a bad disk sector. Had no problems. |

Then, reinstall it. As long as you don't remove the Mozilla/Firefox folder, all of your settings including bookmarks should be retained. |

| A reinstall don't erase the bookmark. Anyway if you fear to loose them. You can make a backup. In Firefox the backup is easy. Go "Bookmarks-Organize Bookmarks...-Backup". |

| Ebay is just a pain in the butt for me, too. I have disabled all my add-ons, run in safe mode and keep getting the "turn on java" message. It is turned on and up to date. I don't bother with them anymore...just isn't worth it. I want to get a new laptop so bad, but want to keep XP. Looks impossible. |

Have you tried another browser like Safari or Opera? I mainly use Firefox, but have Opera and Safari installed to check whenever problems occur.
...and do you use WiFi? |
